Cook v Rowe is a nice problem to have.

 

Yes, let's not forget that Cook came in, made a substitute appearance and tweaked something and missed the Exeter match. What we don't want is him getting injured and out for longer.

We're going to have to rotate players towards the end of the season and some of those decisions will be based on fitness statistical data where we're trying to prevent an injury through tiredness or a worse injury than someone is carrying by overpaying them and we won't know all the reasons ahead of the match. We need to trust the managers.

 

Think AOC has found his best position, He has been outstanding at full back, He fits in so well with Paudie and Canavan

We need to sharpen up. Not enough energy and movement, too slow and sloppy in possession.

 

There are going to be a lot of games like this whilst we are in this form anybody thinking teams will allow us to play sweeping football every game will be disappointed.
The good thing is now we have the players who can play and can battle as well and with a defence as tight as ours is at the moment gives us a great chance every match

 

Fair play to Watt though, even if not at his best, he never hides and always available to receive the ball. Still young and learning and will improve even more in my opinion

 

Think he will rest Cook and Evans on the bench and will play Rowe and Crankshaw or Stevens depending on pitch condition, We need to rotate to rest the older players and give them recovery time for Saturday

 

When was the last time we had so many great choices to start? This is seventh heaven.

 

I'm planning on queuing in the kitchen for a £5 plastic bottle of warm Carlsberg and a pie which is either luke warm on the outside and freezing in the middle or has a filling at roughly the same temperature as the surface of the sun.
I'm then going to walking up and down stairs eight times until I see spots before my eyes, before slumping into a plastic garden chair.

 

Brophy had an excellent game. If Wood leaves in the summer as is rumoured I would not be unhappy to see us make a bid for him.

 

Nah, Paudie was top quality when he first came, didn't have the best season last year but wasn't given full rein.

This season, fully established in a back four rather than a loose part of a back three under Stu McCall, he's back to the player we thought we'd signed.

Paudie, at 23, is one of the best CB's in recent years and at a good age.

Next time we have a slump, I'd expect Paudie to be the captain and lifting the other players. I dare anyone to try telling me AOC could do the same.

 

The main reason we won the game, IMO, was because Cook came on and was the central focal point of our attack. The rest of the team then slotted into their places around him. Unfortunately Rowe is not that type of player and if we are going to continue with this formation then, for me, it has to be Cook in that position. He should have also been given a penalty when he was shoved in the back but the ref tonight let far too many things go and that was just one of them.

 

That's a balanced reply to my post which wasn't very fair. Apologies. I just think Cambridge have finally built a really good, really ugly, really effective team out of nowhere. So today we ground out the most awful win at PV....due to a 84th min strike who scored a worldy ...he doesnt do that much ...actually never ....but the confidence is so high a player like that will do that. And btw Hoolahan did little today and Mullin less. Good luck too....we won't see you in the play offs because we'll be automatically promoted but I hope with all my heart you get promoted too....see you next year for the drink

 

This season is throwing up so many bizarre scenarios. I was reading this morning that when T&S took over in December, Colchester were 15 points ahead of us in the table. We are now 4 points above them with a game in hand.

 

At least he doesn't 'header it' into touch a lot.

 

This won't be an easy game, despite the relative form of both sides. When you've got a goalscorer like Danny Johnson up front, you've got a chance.

I think we'll edge it, but I don't think it'll be comfortable.

 

I think it’s a case of horses for courses playing away at a place like Cheltenham you know you need an outlet which we did first half especially Tonight it will be a case of trying to break them down so Rowe is more appropriate
