    We go again.

A real opportunity to cement a place in the top half of the table, with a game at home to the O's.

Orient on the back of 3 draws but without a win in 5 and only scored in 1 of said 5 games. Last away win on 28th November, with 4 defeats in 5 plus 3 non scoring games (5 away games in 3 months ).

So to the in form Bantams, any changes with 5 games in 2 weeks? Or manage minutes within game time with 5 subs allowed?

    Over to you. Screenshot_20210221_124905_eu.livesport.FlashScores_co_uk.jpg

It's unlikely but if we win the 3 games in handion Cambridge then we could be just 6 points behind the team that's currently 4 points clear at the top.

That is an absolutely bizarre scenario from where we were.

This season is throwing up so many bizarre scenarios. I was reading this morning that when T&S took over in December, Colchester were 15 points ahead of us in the table. We are now 4 points above them with a game in hand.

I can’t wait for our games. Never in a million years did I think I’d be saying that at this point, just a few weeks ago.

Who starts up front on Tuesday. Nice dilemma for the managers

Without being harsh on that stat Colchester have sunk like the Titanic.
They aren't a fair marker of how we have performed.
The best marker is the gap from 3rd we were 11 games ago to what we are now.
We were 19 off 3rd with a game in hand.
We are now 10 off 3rd with a game in hand.
Keep going at the rate we are now then there's only Bolton who could stop us going straight up if they continued at the same rate they are going too.

Where have I said it's a marker on how far we've come? I was merely pointing out yet another bizarre scenario this season has thrown up.

To have a real shout at the play offs, in a 14 day period we have 5 games.

    Orient (H), Walsall (a), Mansfield (H), Bolton (H) and Newport (a).

To be assured of a play off place, we need c2/3rd of the points available. Around 35-37?

With that in mind, we need 9 or more points from this set of 5 fixtures. With the form of Orient, being at home, this 1st game in 5 really must be a win.

9 points would leave us on 46 points, 14 games to go with 26-28 points needed.

    A new kind of pressure.

I must admit to being sceptical about our chances of making a play-off berth.
The stats thrown up time and again suggest that we need the kind of form that no one in this league has, so far, achieved.
But that's the beauty of this season. The form book has gone out the window. And what point hauls are normally required for promotion, the play offs or even staying up seem to no longer apply.

I'd start Cook again, and bring Rowe on for 30 minutes.

Erm...no-one in the league has that form?
    What about us?
Don't we have that kind of form at the moment?

Apart from us over a consistent run of 11 games ? That said it is a massive ask to keep up such a run for what will be 30 games

There are one or two teams on good runs like ourselves Bolton for example are showing signs of awakening Scunthorpe are going well too.
We have to play both of them yet Scunthorpe twice.

Well Cook certainly staked his claim on Saturday. Was it just me or did Rowe look a bit disinterested when he came on? Maybe he's one of those players that always looks like that

    He's not a grafter Rowe.
He was playing his usual game but because everyone else were grafting their bollocks off he looked a bit lazy.
    Nowt to be concerned about.

If we come across a team that decide to park the bus. Crankshaw and Vernham on the wings with Rowe and cook up front that would be a pretty potent forward line

What I mean is that, so far this season, teams go on short runs of form but don't seem to be able to sustain it.
So, if we can maintain a steady run of form then we've a chance.

If no injuries or fatigue from saturday T&S should go with the same team.

On their form they are likely to set up to defend a draw but our lads will just rip through them-looking at a 4 or 5 nil win I expect.

In reality we will lose to a 91st minute fluke
