They did have a lot of possession and Cooper may have a point about Donaldino's foot being high in the box but the referee gave them everything 2nd half. They normally get away with murder so it's a bit rich Cooper moaning. They had a lot of possession but didn't make it pay,
love to have seen that long distance strike from Cook go in.

Not for me-the Donaldson one was a pen but the others were not. One of them the player swung at the ball and fell over.

Do agree about shoving their "brand" of football right up their arris. Their no5 spent all game harassing the ref for every challenge. Was that the one who Watt had a friendly word to?

 

Key thought here Dubois - 'the teams that keep their nerve will get there'. After T&S's mini dip after such a great run of a start, we're on back to back wins - six goals scored, two conceded. The squad will be really up from this and the managers did a great job tactically against Colchester and now FRG. Maybe it's on!

Great result today. Despite their very high environmental standards as as a club, FGR are like a 21st century version of Revie's 'dirty leeds'. So, to beat them when they had ligit claims for a pen is even sweeter.
I have to laugh at the comments about the subs weakening the team. We scored two after we made the subs.
Once again a stupid foul outside the box lead to a goal. This needs cutting out. It is costing us. Luckily we were 3 up at the time and one of our subs gave us that 3 goal cushion again.

 

To be fair if you read back I was just answering questions.

Today was a great result and an excellent 3 points.

Picking holes I would say we should have been out of sight at half time and our midfield was sloppy.

Believe it our not I am extremely happy with how we went about the game today.

Cookie is becoming the go to frontman as opposed to Rowe
Donaldson, another good game. He loses his marker endlessly and plays the ball around well. Oh and knows how to win a foul when needed to.
RO, glued to his line throughout for corners and wide free kicks. They endlessly planted it on the edge of the 6 yard box, knowing he won’t come. (The oppo picked it up, we picked it up as soon as he returned, why is he playing?)
Our finishing was clinical , with I add a slice of luck with the second. It was forced however!

Where to start.?
No 5 was in the ear and face of the ref from the get go. Probably made up for his inadequacy as a defender.
Their bench was at the ref all the game. Some of the stuff I heard , I would regard as pretty insulting.
The gamesmanship runs throughout the team. Even the two young ( impressive at times) lads up front were at it.
One clear foul by City, ended up their lad doing a triple rollover to get the City lad booked.
Their arrogance thinking they could play two at the back with a man in pink playing faux centre half on the edge of the box was stupid.
I really do not see their league position in that team ESPECIALLY their back line. It’s awful!

FGR sack head coach mark cooper, couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

Following on from Colchester sacking their coach and City are having a lethal effect on other teams managers/coaches.

 

I think they were quite physical last time Jon. One of those horrible sides that pushed and pulls you all over then as soon as you breathe on them they're rolling all over the pitch trying to win set pieces.

That's not a good mix either given we tend to give needless free kicks away and also concede plenty from them.

 

I hate managers like Cooper. Football is a results based business , but there are right and wrong ways to win and the antics of his teams , just annoy me. Football is about entertainment not spoiling tatics. I hope for once we give them a good going over.

 

I know. I really hate losing to them teams that fall over and do all the stupid tricks. I'd rather get played off the pitch and lose 4 nowt. At least I could appreciate they were the better team.

 

Ha ha. Yeah, it was horrible. Tippy tappy five a aside with their own keeper. He almost got them into trouble faffing about didn’t he.
