Long time lurker. First time poster. Just signed up so I can try to figure out how to block 'Fordy' so that I can countenance continuing to read the forum. He must be on the wind up cause nobody could possibly be so, but nevertheless I can take no more.

    How do I block please?

Amazing finish by Rowe btw. Sweet strike with the ball coming across him. No doubt Fordy reckons he should have had it on string, recalled it and scored again, or it's not worth it :joy:

The fact both teams are even considering the prospect of promotion right now given where we were 2 months ago is quite amazing.

Like you indicate, there is a long way to go and many tough games ahead. However, we are sniffing about now and you guys have firmly muscled your way into it. I suspect an exciting 2 months ahead!

Could we play Rowe in Verhams place? Vernham has misfired for a few games now, but with the pitch at Cardiff he could be a real asset. We need Rowe on the pitch somehow because he attracts defenders, which in turn makes space for others

When I first started reading posts on this forum there was one individual who used to get my back up: take a bow @Fordy117@Fordy117
But then I realised he relishes the 'bad boy' tag. He loves making crass statements that get people's backs up.
And once I twigged this I then was able to actually see that occasionally our Fordy does have some intelligent and worhwhile points to make.
But he loves the role of pantomime villian and this forum would be a duller place without him.

They beat us with a lucky gifted goal and we missed a pen, at the time they were terrible but so were we. Two totally different sides now, biggest two clubs in the league and the two in form. It’s simply the biggest game in league 2 this season and one I can’t wait for. No idea what to expect, a draw wouldn’t be bad but we’ll be going out to win as always.

Win and we’re one of the favs for promotion no two ways about it, I can see one of us getting promoted but not both tbh so this could be a deciding factor come game 46.

I will be honest shell, I would take a competitive draw in this game - for me the key is just to lift our levels a bit from the past couple of matches because at some stage you cant just 'grit out' results. A slightly more positive, impressive performance and a draw would not upset me one bit.
Of course I would be even more happy with 3 pts ;)

Its a wonderful problem to debate on here but a I don't envy the final call Trueman & Sellars have to make! Whoever they choose, I'll certainly back their reasoning for it!

Suppose the argument for Rowe is that he seems to be able to make something for himself from absolutely nowhere which is often so vital in big games like this. But if Bolton do like to press then Cook gives us a bit more of a focal point to go long if needed and get Cooke, Vernam & Evans/Crankshaw involved at the right end of the field.

I can accept that if players are running at goal or defenders are wrong sided but a lot of the free kicks against Mansfield were given away when the attackers were going nowhere. I can't imagine that's a deliberate ploy, it'd be absolutely stupid if it were.

Completely agree. I still think you'll win tomorrow. Look at Bolton's last 8-9 results ...they've used up their season's luck. A team can't keep winning in the last 10 minutes, 8 minutes and 3 minutes of added time. Remember they were meant to set the league alight this year....really want you to put them back in their box. And as for their fans' sense of entitlement......don't get me started!!

They like a man with money.

More than welcome to come and have an afternoon on the beers (when we're out of lockdown). I've always said City fans can have a few drinks on the house! Waiting for @River_City_Bantam@River_City_Bantam to take me up on the offer!

Totally agree. “Very entertaining game”. Imo it’s been very scrappy with not much quality. Keepers had any saves to make? Don’t think so.
I think whoever scores first, wins this.

Would like to see Crankshaw and Vernam swap sides for a bit.

Also, it wasn't wonderful, we probably SHOULD have lost, but the changes were aggressive from T&S and it paid off.

Hopefully, Cooke gets a little rest on Tuesday and Rowe starts behind Cook.

Cookey was poor for once, and the midfielders behind him not great either; that's fine, but it's time to consider resting them one by one.

Straight down the Record Cafe to talk about the goal. Then over to the Sparrow to talk about how fortunate we were to get a point. Then off to the International to talk about AK spazzing out live on air. Ahhh... heady days.

I agree. We stole a point today from the better team.

First half, there wasn't much in it but that was down to our defending rather than our offensive play. Second half, we were second best. I don't know what Bolton did but they stepped up a gear and their improvement after half time was obvious. We looked in awe of them after the change and I thought it was only a matter a time before they made their advantage particularly in midfield count. In all honesty, we never really looked like scoring. But credit to T&S for the brave substitution and playing Cook and Rowe and Donaldson together. That seemed to confuse Bolton and Rowe's equaliser felt like a winner! A good point but not particularly well earned.
