I would say 2 goals in 2 league apps is pretty good going! He is definitely a crap penalty taker though.

I think it's clear. Gillead gotta get goals - or he's benched. Contributes few assists for a player in his position, too. Clearly talented, but where's any end product? And that's what we need right now - end product.

I've started parking in the Broadway. It's a bit of a trek (15 minutes ish) but it's reasonably secure and at least your car will be in one piece when you get back.

It's blindingly obvious we won't and can't sort out the goal situation because of the lack of funds.
For me as good a player as Cooke is, i'm unsure about what he brings to the behind the striker role.
Surely if your number 9 isn't scoring then your number 10 should be chipping in.
For all his praise and rightly so, can you say he tests the keeper every match, because he should be.
Gilliead hasn't shown any signs of scoring which leaves Vernam who is very hit and miss.
So as we all can see the whole season rides on Andy Cook's shoulders.
Not ideal for a team supposedly looking to go up.

Second best to Barrow!! ..how far have we fallen?

 

They're finding it far too easy to play through our midfield. Its been as issue for too long. We need some physical presence in there, someone who can put their foot in. We should have brought someone in to that effect in the summer. I tell you who'd have been ideal - someone like Yann Songo'o.

 

If we’re honest it’s not a quick fix and bringing in Adams and giving him players who’ve mainly come from clubs who ended below us or were already at this failing club wasn’t going to suddenly make us into a promotion fighting team, although I’m sure that was Sparks and Rupps plan well he did it at Morecambe why not etc…

The club has regressed for a long time now it’s going to take a change at the top and time to fix. I’m at the point in my life now where there are more important things than football so I don’t let it wind me up anymore thankfully because it’s a long road ahead.

And we supposedly beat our sales target, plus a fair few thousand paying on the day punters. I really would love to see the budget compared with recent years, I’m not usually that bothered but if that team is anywhere over mid table in terms of budget then I’d be shocked. Not to mention all our fancy new sponsors that keep getting unveiled on social media…

 

My thoughts exactly regarding both the timing of the subs and then to take Cook off rather than to give him some support!
I’m not being knee jerk - I’ve been a fan of Adams so far so not turning based on one game.
But, he needs to learn from that today.
I almost wonder if the refusal to change things was a two fingers at the poor recruitment at the top end of the pitch.

 

Did well last week but looked every inch a non league centre half today as expected.

 

Although I don’t think 442 is the be all and end all like a few on here I think it’s worth a go next week, rather than have Cook isolated on his own. I’d probably put Vernam up along side him as he feels like our biggest goal threat, then Callum Cooke and Songo’o in CM and bring Crankshaw in on the wing.

 

We’ll have to agree to disagree. Angol’s signing was slated by many, now we’re realising the gap left by him been out. The manager said the same in his interview. Robinson has barely had a kick and even though I’m not expecting nor wanting our formation to dramatically change, we needed more upfront and Cook needed more around him today and it should have come sooner than 80 mins. Lavery, so far, I agree with you on.

Outside of these guys, Songo’o, Crankshaw and Sutton have something to offer in league 2 and I’m surprised they haven’t had more game time so far, especially in a game like today.

 

I am not sure that Turnbull should be the scapegoat, he can make a list of the available targets but if City cannot afford them then we are left with the likes of Lavery/Robinson.

These guys might not be his choices, rather than what was left on the list.
