    I've been in Italy for eight days now. In and around Fano, on the east coast. Really enjoying eating lots of excellent food that you never see on menus in Italian restaurants in Britain. Also drinking quality house red wine at cheap as chips prices - at one restaurant it was 4 euros per litre! Off to Bologna - gastronomic capital of Italy - on Tuesday, so I don't expect any let up in the food quality.

    Visited the walled hill city of Urbino (a political powerhouse in medieval times and the birthplace of the artist Raphael) last Wednesday. A beautiful place and a good day out if you're in the Marche/Emilia Romagna area.

    Got absolutely hammered last night at a wedding. Fabulous outdoor ceremony in a venue overlooking the sea. Free bar was a killer. Expected to have the hangover from hell today but surprisingly ok. Off shortly to a beach restaurant for lots of lovely seafood.

    Stuck in a dodgy hotel in Frankfurt tonight. Flight from Manchester was an hour late so we missed our connection to Bologna. Got to get up at 4.50 am to be sure of getting through security etc tomorrow. Praying that Lufthansa haven't mislaid our hold baggage.

    We are finally on the plane to Bologna, having been here since 5.30 am. It should have taken off 25 minutes ago but at least we're on it. Just hope our hold baggage is too.

    No real desire to fly anywhere just yet, hated the experience even when things were 'normal'.
    Staycations don't really appeal either, seems I'm just a miserable bugger.

    Hold baggage arrived safely in Bologna with us. Pretty surprising considering the vast number of people at Frankfurt airport yesterday with lost luggage. Phew!

    Tbh, I can’t fault Jet2 whatsoever. I feel like they always TRY and put the customer first, especially during covid and that Icelandic volcano thing the other year. Other companies failed miserably, especially TUI, I don’t think I’d ever book with them.

    Leeds Bradford airport a complete shambles. Worst I’ve ever seen an airport. Jet2 a victim over expanding too with a two hour wait for coaches at Palma to the resort with lots of angry passengers shouting at staff.

    Yes I’m usually very pro Jet2 in fact we were once delayed 10 hours with them and it was the best delay we ever had, put up in a hotel with free drinks and food however Palma the other day was just a total unorganised mess.
