TBH the PFA should be put in charge of managing a fund to pay for all testing throughout English football. Have the clubs pay in a certain amount (Either a sliding scale by division or maybe have it based on the a percentage of their weekly wage bill) and the players also put in a percentage of their weekly wage. Maybe have the PL still fund their own testing as well but you would hope that there would be enough coming in each week to fund regular testing at least through the EFL, mabe even into the National League if they ever get going

Guessing you didn’t watch the Spurs documentary on Amazon Prime? The players were hardly trying to keep away from unnecessary contact in training when they came back from lockdown in that

The test results for all the other players and staff will be known tomorrow morning? If only one player has covid and all necessary precautions taken for the rest, surely the game has to go ahead.
If games are to be cancelled due to on3 player having covid this season will never finish.
Incidentally does anyone know what the rules are for cancelling games due to covid. Our game against Grimsby is off due to a number of players/staff having covid. In this instances how many are effected this may help understand if games are likely to be cancelled
I agree hence my point about taking all necessary precautions. Not sure how it works for sports team thought, I know it should be the. Same but wasn’t Josh Cullen about to get on a team bus to play when he tested positive but their game went ahead. Just think we need some clarity

Parents of children are expected to isolate because their child shares the same classroom as a child who tests positive. They are in far closer contact than parents under those rules.

See what I don't get is if this was EFL advice, why are Stevenage waiting for the test results for the full squad before making a decision on tomorrow's game, when Grimsby were allegedly told to close everything and isolate?

Liverpool paid for Lincoln squad/staff etc to be tested.

Think this is the problem. In the PL players are tested twice a week and shopping is delivered to the players. Players have to say where they have been and in contacted with but basically told to say at home. Yes, PL players will catch it but they the just isolate the player/players that have it and test everyone again.

Seems in the ELF clubs can do what they want. I said before a ball was kicked in the football league who is going to be paying for the testing and it looks like no process is in place at all.

The difference is most likely that if the training ground is flooded you can move elsewhere. I imagine that they aren't even allowed to do that

Its because grimsby haven't tested their players as the EFL dont require it. Which is stupid in my opinion.

There was a school saying that if a child is sent home from one year due to an outbreak a sibling in another year could still go to school but the parents would be asked to isolate. It made no sense to me what so ever.

Then again the rules change daily. The rule of 6 from 2 weeks ago have been updated about 3 times already.

    Whole situation is a farce.
Remember last week - BRE didn't travel cause he had a sore throat and needed a Covid test. Now obviously he didn't test positive but there was clearly some uncertainty and the club took a sensible decision not to play him. This of course did not impact the rest of the team in any way.
If there's a mass outbreak in a squad then fair enough but 1 player is not a reason to call a game off.

To be fair to Stevenage, it clearly seems that they are testing all players and if they come back negative - game on, if there's an outbreak - game off. But what happens if there is a delay in results being available?

Final thought - Cheltenham and Walsall are both now free to play. Would seem sensible for them to play each other. With cases rising the season will never end unless there is some flexibility

Based on that, there's no way the EFL can allow our game to be called off tomorrow. But with this lot who knows.

I agree, guidance and rules constantly change. It’s really difficult. Really doesn’t help any of us.
