I just watched the highlights. Wow - their keeper and defence saved the say for sure. Don't think I've seen us have so many chances in a match.
I was thinking Hoppy walked because he couldn't get a tune out of these players, but looking (admittedly at the highlights), but the players did seem to want the win today.

I think it's more likely that Rupp sat down with him after the game, and told him his future plans - be it him selling up, not investing money or something along those lines. And if that is the case, then good luck getting someone new in, because they are going to get the same talk.

For me, it would make sense to get someone in who can try and keep us up this season, and then see what happens after that.

Wonder if Harry fancies another crack at a reality tv show?!

I'll probably bow out to be fair. It's not like you've got any tangible point anyway.

It’s ok saying that but there’s two sides to a game and if you can’t defend then you will generally lose more games than you win

Yes he is hoping to get his GCSE grades to attend the Bradford City Foundation Football and Education College. The BTEC qualification is equivalent to A levels. He is just 16 but coming on nicely. I went to watch him last week down st the University, he played well, made a few mistakes as they do, but looked good. Noticed a speedy right winger down there, while I was at, and a couple of lads up front looked promising.

Despite the nonsense posted by Fordy, have you forgotten what ML and JR said prior to selling to R&R? They had already said that they (ML & JR) weren't in a position to take our club forward. For that they should be applauded for their honesty. They also said that they would only sell the club to somebody who could take the club forward. And now look at the mess that selling to Rahic and Rupp has produced!

The EFL's 'fit and proper person' test (properly called the 'owners and directors test') has got nothing whatsoever to do with whether the prospective owners were competent to own and manage a football club. It is solely concerned with confirming that the prospective owners had any legal convictions preventing them from owning the club. If ML and JR had really wanted to sell only to new owners who could take the club forward, it was a matter for them to put in place adequate safeguards to guarantee that. The previous owners of Pompey managed to do that when they sold out at a similar time so why didn't JR & ML?

When ML&JR sold out to R&R, I suspect it was more to do with the feel of Rupp's millions in their own pockets than it was about safeguarding the future of our club.

With respect Dennis your last paragraph is wrong. Yes JR and ML got paid out but I was in the Boardroom when ER and SR were discussed and it was a decision based on your first paragraph, 'someone to take the club forward'. That was to be achieved with money, money which was then frittered away by someone who didn't know football, didn't know business, didn't know man management and an accountant who by all comments to me, didn't know accounts. I don't know what you would call such a person.

Roger, it's that last comment that I found most incredible concerning Rahic's stewardship of our club. The one thing you would have thought the (alleged) ex CFO of Bosch would excel at would be keeping the finances in order

Ahar, can I refer you to an article written by Jason McKeown in WOTP several months ago regarding the career history of the person concerned. The information for the article came from research carried out by me and taken on by another contributor to this site, who filled in some blanks. I assume the article is still available and it makes spectacular reading.
As far as my research is concerned I can say most of what I found was as a result of favours done for me through the London and German Stock Exchanges, largely as a nod to my own reputation from my working life which gave me a warm feeling at the time I got my answers. Those sources of themselves give all the credibility needed.

That indeed would be interesting reading. I don't know how I missed that. I can't seem to find it on WOAP. Anyone point me in the right direction?

It's one thing to believe they were selling to somebody who could take the club forward, it's a very different thing to sell it to somebody who really had the experience, wherewithal and money to deliver on that. I'm afraid history has proved they failed on that.

On the issue of Rahic's alleged qualifications, I wrote on C&B over 2 years ago that there was nothing to justify his claim that he was an accountant let alone the DoF of the Bosch group! After some research I concluded that his name simply doesn't appear on any of the accountant's registers in Germany. And at the time our firm were the Bosch auditors and checking his other claim was somewhat easier! He was however employed as a lower level finance manager in a Bosch jv. His credentials were bogus and it still surprises me that wasn't spotted before the club was sold to him as 'somebody to take the club forward'!

Our situation does remind me of Liverpool's when David Moores an honest local business who loved Liverpool sold to the American jokers Hicks and Gilliett & Liverpool near went under. They were close.

Hicks and Gillett saying new ground etc.

Looking at Liverpool gives me hope. They're now one of the riches clubs in the world, will soon have the world record shirt deal.

This hasn't come about my pleasing fans though, far from it.

Suppose mistakes do happen mate in business transfers. Shouldn't but they do.
