How embarrassing you just glossed over Jamie Lawrence’s multiple armed robbery’s because he was a fantastic player? Absolute double standards.

 

Agree Mike. However, taking the exclusive word of an acquaintance (as I am led to believe they were) who has no history with Rupp and is therefore a bit of an unknown quantity is not a prudent course of a action with a significant amount of his money on the line.

I know it's easy with hindsight but an experienced man like Rupp should not have had to rely on a deputation from City fans travelling to see him, after much damage had been wrought, to understand that Rahic was disastrous.

 

I agree, think they do have someone lined up. Courteous goodbye and thankyou, no we tried to keep here, so I am guessing it was probably mutual consent.

It’s a difficult one to call, personally I don’t think we can get anyone in who can turn us around, but we also have to think long term, and that is also difficult not knowing what is going on beyond May.

 

You are 100% right about having to think long term. The worst thing we could do imo is get someone until the end of the season like we did with Grayson, with the offer of extending the contract after that because we all know how well that turned out. Whoever comes in has to be up for giving it a right good go to stay up, but also has to be someone the fans feel they can get behind next season if they fail. A lot is banking on this one - get the right person in and even if we go down, ticket season sales may still be fairly healthy, get it wrong and it doesn't bear thinking about.

 

Why?

We need the best man for the job and if it's Evans then so be it.

What a load of tripe. If he starts winning games and gets us towards the top of the table scoring plenty like some of his teams there will be bums on seats. Football fans are fickle people. We are not a charity and it's not a popularity contest. We need to win at all costs.

Lawrence did a few armed robbery’s because he was brought up in a rough area and that was standard. The guy turned himself around and played internationally and in the premier league.

Steve Evans is not the kind of manager I want at city.

He’s not the greatest example of a human but so what? We took Jamie Lawrence on and he committed worse crimes.

For me we don't have a bad bunch of players but now is to make all players feel they've a chance to play. 12 cup finals! Fans are getting caught up with expecting mega performances straight away without taking their life in concentration. I'm guilty of it.
