I didnt watch either, but listening on the radio I never got the impression we were in any trouble at 2.1 v Hartlepool, whereas with Colchester the impression was we wouldnt win that game if we played all week.

Cook still had a lot to do when he picked up that pass, on his current form I really don't think Oliver would have done much with it even if he received it

Halliday was marking the guy in the centre, Banks was the guy watching their fellar run in unmarked and doing nothing about it.
    Just didn’t react at all.

Cook is a striker oozing with confidence at the moment.

Read my post. I said he had a poor game, until he was moved to the middle.
I just don't think he should be scapegoated for a fullback's failure.

Playing as he is and with the support he needs, he is a class finisher.

What about both Banks & Halliday on the far post poor defending just gave the guy a free header neither competed for the cross.

Yes, they were even more culpable for the goal.

I think Banks agreed that he was at fault for the goal in his post match interview.

I haven't seen the goal again since I saw it live on ifollowand not saying Banks is blameless, but surely its the defender not the winger who should be competing a header on the edge of the 6 yard box?

The full back was tracking the winger, therefore our winger has to follow their fullback in. As their full back scored it’s our wingers responsibility, Halliday can’t follow more than one player and if he’d lost his man and he’d have scored then Hughes and the management team wouldn’t have been happy.

You still love him though offy ! I've nothing against him, but like you feel his strongest position is in the middle (with another striker).

It was both of them in reality. If anything Banks left him and Halliday was too late in realising the danger.

Harratt came on too late v Colchester. They panicked when he came on imho.

I know what you are saying but I'm not sure how a winger running back towards his own goal is supposed to defend that cross. I seem to remember Halliday was in no mans land, not following anyone, but I could well be wrong on that

At this stage of the season I don’t think it is fair to pick out individual players for criticism. They win as a team and lose as a team. It is heartening to see the teams togetherness, and as a fan we should be part of the team. Let’s see how this all goes, some players are performing really well and others not so well, but time and support should help.

Agree. I was about to say 10 or 15 mins left is too late to change a game....but I think he changed the Hartlepool game in about a minute

The cross came from the other side of the pitch and we should have closed the lad Hastie down but it was hardly a great cross just a ball played into the area but we were caught out with neither diffender picking up the lad Ferguson who had a free header.
