Him staying and getting in his own players this summer makes me shudder.

I don't think any of us have any appetite for another managerial change, or trust in those who'd make the decision. Continuity is important, but only if you believe in what you're doing. Another change may be needed, but its not a binary question. That starting point has to be a strategy and footballing philosophy, set by a capable leader (not Rupp or Sparks). That strategy should in no way be shaped around the current manager. You then assess whether the manager is the right fit for that strategy, and if not, you make a change and be as diligent as you can to bring in, then back and support that manager so they have a chance to build and shape something.
If it were me setting that strategy, GA wouldn't be a fit for what i think we need, and I'd never have hired him.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...bantamdave41, IAteAllThePies, bantam2708 and 5 others like this. -
Sparks hiring GA highlights this man is clueless about football or has no long term strategy for the club.
GA has to go because his style of play, tactics and formation will never give us a foundation. I see why MK sacked him so early now. He worries about the team we play rather than making sure we play to our strengths.
I wouldn’t trust him with a transfer budget. Not all that he doesn’t believe in youth players.
I see no direction under him and he could set this club back years.
Having Sparks, Rupp and GA leading this club is extremely concerning!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...bantam2708, Bantamtom, Lard Arse and 5 others like this. -
Sacking Alexander isn't the solution to the club's problems; it's far deeper than that. Sacking Alexander is simply papering over the cracks. It might provide yet another false dawn to create some short term enthusiasm for the fans but it's more akin to painting over the spots when you have measles and expecting the illness to go away!
The changes required are more fundamental than that. Rupp has demonstrated little interest in the club and his CEO is simply doing Rupp's bidding. In his recent letter, Rupp has hinted at making changes to the way he gets involved and suggesting changes within the club. I'll take all of that at face value at the moment and trust he is true to his word. If not ....
But I have a series of questions for Stefan before he starts making any changes. Firstly, what is your vision for the club in 1 or 2 or 3 years time? Do you for example see us staying where we are within that timescales or is promotion a genuine intent? Secondly, what's your strategy to deliver on your vision? Is it for example a simple matter of throwing money at the various issues in the short term or do you want to build something gradually over time or do you want to simply tread water until a buyer comes along? Thirdly, what's your plan year-on-year to help you deliver your strategy, whatever it is? Or if you prefer, what's your first step on the road to hhe destination?
The point about that is there's little purpose in appointing somebody new whether that's a DoF or a new manager or a new coach or developing the academy or anything else on the footballing front in the absence of a clear vision and therefore strategy for the club. We've failed at that for years now and continuing to appoint a new manager on a regular basis, for example, hasn't been very productive. I put that in part down to not knowing where we're going as a club. Getting yet another manager into VP in the absence of knowing where we're going would be to repeat what we've done already in recent years. And that hasn't been particularly successful!bantamdave41, Chris Withe, vladimir and 5 others like this. -
Sack Alexander, sack Rupp. sack Sparks, sack Gent, sack the players, sack the fans.
We have to stop wanting everyone sacked and let someone build something that lasts longer than a few months.
It seems Rupp is here for a while, Alexander should be allowed time to build a squad in his mould.
Sparks and Gent do need removing from the football side, both have failed for several season's.
The players we have accumulated are basically spineless and need moving on where possible, very few actually provide value for money, its not their fault though its the useless recruitment team, so we are back to Sparks, Gent and Hughes.
Rupp if he owns the club, also needs to be more hands on and visible, visiting at least once a month would be a start, bloody hell Germany is not the other side of the world.Bantam4ever, Wakefield Bantam, Kopendin1964 and 5 others like this. -

Think we need to sack Gent and appoint someone who has more than the criteria of "can they car share with Cook and Gilliead?" to their scouting network.

Alexander was a terrible appointment. He's a bullshit merchant, much like the charlatan that hired him and cannot walk the walk when it matters.
The worst thing we could do is give him a summer window to sign a bunch of geriatrics to play his pre historic brand of football.Ian Farnell, Get Rid Of It, Faithful Bantam and 4 others like this. -

So, basically when Sparks and whoever were complaining about Edin he wanting to do something to address the situation but now will do nothing because it doesn’t suit his agenda! He is all for the suits! Forgotten what it’s like to be a fan!
He talked about the club going under if we finish in the NL but what he fails to talk about is Ryan Sparks is killing this club and fans want him out!!
Care about the club FFS! If you want season ticket sales to improve or fans mood then Sparks needs to resign or Rupp needs to sell. Something needs to happen and quickly. Club is a mess!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...IAteAllThePies, Ponty City, bantamdave41 and 4 others like this. -

A couple of days ago I said sacking another manager wasn't really the answer to our present debacle.
But after last nights post match interview from Graham Alexander he didn't exactly inspire me with any confidence going forward whatsoever, in fact some of his actual responses to Jamie Rayner's questions fell way short in terms of what actually went on performance wise.
The squad in my opinion is too weak mentally when it matters (six wins from 20 home games is awful). Off the field, it looks a mess with supporters having no faith in the owner or the people running the club day to day. What, realistically, is going to change by installing another manager?
Absolutely nothing because the men tasked with the hiring and firing can't get it right.
I don't know what to make of our current manager and I bet I'm not the only one, fifty fifty at best.Rhino66, Manningham bantam, vladimir and 4 others like this. -
I see that people are asking whether we can trust the present regime to appoint the correct manager should they actually sack Graham Alexander? The answer is a definite "NO!"
Surely though, the more pertinent question should be..... Which manager in his/her right mind would come to this car crash of a club to work under erm...... challenging conditions?Rhino66, Manningham bantam, Biker and 4 others like this. -

There is no point sacking Alexander before Sparks has been replaced. It was hard enough to recruit a new manager after Hughes was sacked. It will be even harder if Alexander is sacked !!
