Then I looked at the fixtures between the two.

We played them in 1990 and next in 96 in a League Cup game.
So it appears, if these are accurate , I’m wrong.

The appointment of Hodges makes the chances of it working out significantly better. We now have a Barry Fry type, i.e. lower league expert who not only relishes getting his hands dirty - expects the club to buy into it as well.

Remember Hughes only needs the following;-

1. To attract one or two players, who might have gone elsewhere. Highly likely that is now feasible, given what respect he has in the game. I can't think of a single person who has a bad word to say about him. Stoke fans that I know (we have accounts down there) realise that he did a great job.
2. Better look with injured wingers!!

Whilst we've looked a million miles away recently, in reality we aren't. Not certain Harrogate could have complained if we drew both our matches with them. A couple of wins can work wonders. Ask Joey Barton!!

I've actually got back my respect for Sparks. He's clearly tries to be professional in everything he does. So many people in important positions actually don't check their junk e-mail - 9 times out of 10, I have to remind new customers etc, that perhaps my e-mail is in their junk box.

Yes. It's a stroke of luck, but I'd argue it's deserved for someone who always, despite his faults, stays professional.

Looking forward to today not expecting miracles but lets see if we notice any positives with regards the footballing side.

 

If we lose it will be the fault of Trueman. If we win it will be the fault of Hughes. That's how managing football teams goes.

Great shout, I plumped for SU as they were home and away fixtures for me but yes that’s a good call

 

Dont forget….The deckchairs remain the same irrespective of who is in the dug out, however “ style” as you say could be a good pointer.

It’s a tad difficult after being here for 48 hours or so. I’m not expecting miracles tbh.
