Getting In & Out of VP

Surely the common sense would have been for people to follow the simple instructions and use the other exit. Adds a few minutes on the walk

 

There is because the width of the footpath would not cope with the extra number of people getting to the top of the stairs at the same time. Thus creating a crush at the top. The club have looked into it before and the council have said no for safety reasons

 

So keep the crush at the bottom where the Kop & NWC merge. Great thinking that.

 

These steps are all designed accordingly. Ever been to Italy and to the coliseum in Rome? The vomitaries (as they are correctly called) have steep stairs with deep riser on purpose to slow down the crowds as they leave. At least our steps are better than that ;-)

 

Better at the bottom of steps than the top.
But, I agree with you. Whilst it’s only five minutes of someone’s life, and uncomfortable five minutes at that, can you imagine the carnage if there was an emergency evacuation?
You’d have no chance of exiting promptly

 

I think that is why they keep telling people to use the other exits but for some reason people don't seem to be able to follow simple requests

 

Wouldn't people exit across the school car park in an emergency?

 

problem is made twice as bad though when they implement the no exit onto midland road rule

 

Thought it was a no right turn rule? So again still only a few minutes more than risking it going up the narrow stairs.

 

Has this thread gone a little awry, or are we now talking about putting Trueman on the turnstiles and letting him manage the car park? Cos’ he’s going to be f*ck all use at getting a tune out our f*ckwitted c-words!

 

What other exits ? To leave the kop and get to Manningham Lane via midland Road would be stupid

 

Possibly so, and to be honest you couldn’t do that when I was in the kop two years ago so I’m assuming the situation has improved since (or alternatively people are choosing to go the crowded step way)

 

Simplest solution would be to either stop fans leaving the main stand towards that corner thus preventing a three way hit or let fans cut through the main stand and exit the other side near the club shop.

 

What ground do you go to. Yes there is congestion at the last minute that can’t be avoided except by getting there earlier but the ground empties fairly quickly for a large crowd

 

I think it was always an option in emergency as the gates could be opened. But a lot of it is people picking to go that way when there are other options available but as always people go for the quickest route even if they then complain they are unsafe

 

So you would rather go via a route that you claim is unsafe or add a few minutes to your journey

 

Not out of the kop. It can take ten minutes plus from our seats to the top of the ridiculously narrow stairs

 

Slow day down at the car wash today? Now even getting in and out of the ground is a problem....what's next for criticism....the groundsmans bandana?

 

We are in lower kop and never experience long waits to get out
