I like the fact that Bowyer has sat down individually with each player and
asked them about their feelings and grievances.If there is something that's
caused issues with the players it needs to be addressed and dealt with now.

 

People may be complaining that such an appointment is 'boring' or 'uninspiring'. That may be so, but he does have experience of clubs that are in a mess in the lower leagues.

Handing the job to someone with little to zero experience would be asking a lot of them, especially with that squad, and could possibly put the club at risk of falling out of the football league entirely.

Someone needs to come in to stop the rot and put in some solid foundations before there's any likelihood of moving forward again. A 'sexy' appointment might improve season ticket sales, but he won't look so attractive if the club's fighting for its very existence in 12 months time.

Drury mentions the mental side of things needs to be addressed. All a new manager can do is paper over the cracks. These players don’t have the mental strength of character to come back when conceding. To stand any chance we’ve got to hold out for as long as possible.

These players don’t trust in each other.

I’m not too concerned who the new guy is because he’s on a hiding to nothing.

 

33 points to play for best thing we can do is turn up in numbers and get behind the team on saturday. Wouldnt want to see the gap any bigger but if we can get it to 3 points with ten games to go who knows. There may be some poor players in the City team but you can say that for most League One sides. Some 6 pointers coming up.

 

A good appointment this just wish it was longer hope he does well and the deal is extended

Last throw of the dice. If we don’t get behind the team and make the 12th man we will kicking ourselves that we did nothing. I am sure we don’t want to go down without a fight and you never know the fat lady may not get to sing.

 

Yes but he still doesn’t have a job. I didn’t like him when he walked through the door and liked him even less when he left. In my view he enjoys his non working life better than his working life! We propped up his bank account nicely, for what exactly, being told we are a basket case?

 

A good appointment if true. Too late for this season but gives him a chance to put a marker down for next season.

 

We are all going to have our own personal thoughts on who we think should come in - but once the club makes an appointment we have to get behind them. Whoever it is is going to have a massive challenge and will need all the support they can get, whether its your preferred choice or not. Lets face it there are no guarantees in our predicament, no matter which one they go for

 

So Parker reporting this morning that whoever the new manager is, it's only until the end of the season. When will we ever learn?

 

No manager has been able to change this clubs mentality for the best part of two season and some naively think the new manager will have us in play off form for the last eleven games. Ain't happening folks, we don't have a squad of players good enough. Theres a difference between not giving up and not being good enough, doesn't mean you don't give up trying but ultimately its pointless.

 

Good luck to them with trying to push the season tickets to those fans who are still deliberating about whether to renew.

 

If it’s bowyer until the end of the season then being a misery and sniping isn’t going to help the club now. The club needs everyone backing the manager until the end of the season then take stock. Bowyer needs just short of a miraculous turn around of form that couldn’t be achieved by the previous 5 managers. He or who ever it is deserves support and backing until May.

 

Very poor decision to appoint till the end of the season. No lessons learned and starting again in the summer puts us behind everybody else. Poor stuff

I'm alright with this appointment, not sure why its only a short term deal, this season is as good as over, we are getting relegated, no two ways about that. I'd be getting someone in with a view to looking towards next season now.

 

Just what the doctor ordered experienced and a players' manager.The Club had to act quickly and did. Breaths more life into our season and keeps hopes alive of a great escape.

 

He is certainly aware of what he's taking on, at least Rahic has gone since he was at the Coventry game and we spoke about our situation, sounds a good signing.

 

Definitely needed an experienced bloke so l am happy to give him a chance. Not sure what he can do that Hopkins couldn't though? These players, as a group, are not desperate not to go down.
