    The irony was that they were not ‘mates’. It was suggested that they hadn’t met each other. Apparently they had accounts with the same bank, and Rahic sought a partner for his ‘project’ and the bank introduced him to Rupp. If it was me I would be exceptionally unhappy with the bank, but I assume that his accountants looked at the proposal, did some ‘due diligence‘ enquires before the new partnership was created.

    Different players obviously age differently and I dare say that the nutrition and training facilities and programming are a bit better at Leicester than they are here. Lets see how he does. But from memory, signing players over 30 tends to fair badly, more than successfully for us. What concerns me are comments on Portsmouths fans forum like ‘starting to look leggy’ and ‘past his best’.

    So he’s apparently declining. The question which will be answered through his performances will be whether that decline is sharp enough to render him ineffective at our level.

    I think he's a decent player, and it's a good signing, but where is he going to play? Right wing - we've got Zelly and Dylan. the number 9 role, we've got Billy Clarke. Obviously he's better than those three, but kind of weird that our first proper signing is for a position we've already got filled, yet have others which remain open.

    Penalty taker I think. I'll put him down on my prediction for tmrw!
