Game 21 - England vs Scotland

Should have been braver and gone for the 0-0 if you wanted bonus points lol

 

Robertson is deluded isn't he thinking Scotland deserved more than a point. They were good as a unit but really weren't much of a threat either. A draw is pretty much a fair result for both teams

 

But that's the thing neither team deserved to win. Both had one good chance and a couple of half-chances. It's not like their game against the Czech's where they created a lot and outside the goals weren't really threatened.

I think the problem with Southgate is he did ok when we didn't really have the best team and not as many option but now we do in a lot of positions and its tactically causing him to freeze. Playing 2 DM's and 2 AM's but having to shift one of those DM's out wide where they aren't effective is a major problem as the team just isn't balanced. He needs to stop acting like he has to pick some players and pick the players that will work together best for the team they are up against

 

There's going to be teams where playing those 2 makes sense but doing so makes making a choice between 1 of Mount, Grealish and Foden. If we shift one of them out wide with the way Kane now plays its never going to work. The best bet tonight was Rice in DM, with 1 DM Pivot I would probably put Mount in first as he has a bit more discipline than Foden and Grealish and then you have a choice between those 2 in the other AM role.

His squad selection hasn't helped him though, as far as proper attacking wide players we only really have Sterling, Rashford and Sancho (unless I'm forgetting someone). Doesn't really give us many options. Why we were close to having 4 RB's and only 1 player who likes playing wide right I do not know
