You buy it and then what? It loses 500k or more a year apparently, so you need to keep continuous funding in mind, you’d have to appoint a CEO and a board. Then what? Every half baked fan who has put £10.53 in shrapnel in thinks their opinion counts and if the CEO disagrees with them wants his money back. I don’t think they would be able to separate their shareholdings from the reality of running a business. We haven’t signed a striker for £1m and £10k a week? Sack the board and give me my money back. Put ten average City fans in a room and ask for an opinion and you’ll get 11 different opinions.
It’s a genuine non starter for me.

I think any ideas on fan ownership, protest types etc. should be on the SOC thread so they are all together. In my view the initial guys behind SOC should arrange a meeting initially to set up the aims/objectives, website, twitter, facebook etc and then possibly arrange a wider meeting with other fans that are interested to take ideas for protests, fan ownership etc and co-ordinate all the ideas into an organised plan etc. Somebody could then be asked to speak to Pompey Supporters Trust to see how they went about the fan ownership etc...

Unless we have big backers it'd be a non starter for me. Pompey are a bigger draw and based on the south coast, which is why they were able to sell. We had no real interest the last time we were up for sale until these two turned up. As we've seen with the protest fund, we're struggling to raise £750.00, nevermind £7.5M needed to buy them out and provide a playing budget.
If we can get enough to invest, so we can get a supporter on the board, that might be a more viable option. -
