    The original leak will have come because he was arrested at the ground straight after the match before the coach left. So the club will have been well aware as it happened in some of their presence.

    It's easy to see why the first one was locked and it was a good decision to do so. There wasn't anything even remotely out of order in the second one. There was no abusive language, there were no baseless accusations and there were no petty arguments.

    It's not a pleasant subject and it's understandable why some wouldn't want to read it, but that shouldn't stop people from expressing their opinions providing it's done in the correct manner.

    Nothing to discuss as we know nothing about it, and in addition it is nothing to do with us. Difficult concept for one or two on here I know, but lets have a bit of commonsense and concern for others' feelings in this situation. End of?

    The problem when people bring up freedom of speech is due to the increasing influence of US media on the UK it colours the idea of what free speech means in the UK.

    In the US Freedom of Speech trumps almost every other law and goes as far as making their defamation laws almost non-existent because you are only guilty of that if at the time of saying/writing it you can be proven to have known it was false.

    In the UK we don't even technically have freedom of speech, are free to have express opinions but you are not allowed to infringe on others rights when doing so. When it comes to defamation, for example, the burden isn't now on the person you defamed to prove that you knew it was incorrect, the burden is on you to prove in court what you said was correct.

    That means for both you and for sites/services that you use to express your views there is a fine line to tread. Unless you can back it up with evidence and that evidence can be verified then accusations can not only put you in legal danger but also all the staff on this site if we let it go unchecked.

    So it's a sensible approach to restrict the discussion to anything that is either officially made public (which is really just the clubs nothing statement and Cheshire polices statement) or the discussion of any article others publish but keeping things restricted to things mentioned in those articles (Although even that's a grey area. we have seen people like Tom Cruise sue and win court cases against British outlets simply for repeating stories the likes of The National Enquirer published in the US and got away with)

    The proceedings are now subjudice, which in terms of this site, means that anyone posting opinions/conjecture/potential libel and defamation before any possible trial, could be guilty of prejudicing a jury by placing these online. I would say be extremely careful Mods, what you allow people to post.

    As far as I am aware he has not been charged with anything. He has been arrested and the Police have not clarified whether or not he has been charged. So unless you have a quotable source, your final word is wholly wrong.

    I haven't studied either thread. And whilst it pales into insignificance in many ways, has anyone touched on the football impact here...? We're losing our young player of the year indefinitely, and our left hand side looks even more in need of strengthening.

    I take it you havent seen the city facebook group? There are some real nutters on there who clearly believe they can post and say what they like potentially jeapordising any possible court case with no come back. I hope they all get action taken against them.

    This is a football forum. Threads about criminal cases are not helpful there will br ongoing investigstions. That some immediately after the suspension chose to try and make it a political attack on the owners was to their shame. Lets leave the police to do their job. It seems we are now a left sided player short so much to discuss

    Mickey, thanks for that. I am sure you did not mean to perhaps include that information, to cause any difficulty. The trouble with this situation is that it is very emotive and people perhaps say things and then reflect afterwards.

    The Sportsmail reports the alleged incident took place on the evening of the 13th and 14th August? Well if that's the case then what was a professional footballer doing up into the early hours on the day of a match he was to be involved in?

    Does this offer up another topic of lack of discipline within the group?
