I agree but apart from in certain away games I'd like to think we aren't starting both him and McDonald as without the attacking wing backs it starts to look like a very negative line up.

I can't see that we'll leave out either Walker or Pattison from the starting eleven so that leaves just one spot for Smallwood, McDonald, Gillead, East or Osadebe.

I hope so. I think we'll need that extra attacking option, especially at home, with the wing backs we have available.

On Saturdays cameo’s Pattison and Walker were the two stand outs for sure in my book. I’m not sure they would both be in the same line up away from VP though David unless we went for the diamond instead of 352.?

It depends on the wing backs I would say. There's no reason why we couldn't play them both though as you'd still have a solid back 3 with a screen just in front.

The concern would be the space behind the wing backs if it's Halliday and Ridhalgh as I don't think either can cover the ground quick enough when our opponents are on the break.

Based on the current shape of the squad and Saturdays tactics, 352 looks like the obvious formation we’re going with. I’d be concerned if we’re starting Stubbs, Platt and Taylor as the 3 CBs though. I think we need at least one more mobile CB such as Odusina.

If Odour can’t get to grips playing LWB then we should also be focussed on trying to sign one because whilst Ridehalgh is a solid LB he isn’t an attacking wing back which you need to make 352 work.

Interesting times ahead as it could all still change in the next few weeks as more transfers occur.
