Huge debate on FB about it being a flare or a smoke bomb, and trying to justify the difference! Facepalm.

I was sat about 10 rows back in block K near the aisle with block L and the flare went over my head into the bottom tier.
It definitely came from the back of block K where they were all stood up.
    Fecking idiot.

The problem is these days, a lot of people are just plain thick - I do wonder how some people get through the day they’re that dim.

On another note, CCTV systems are notoriously poor especially if they haven’t been upgraded in the last 10 years - there are high quality systems available these days. City may be as well upgrading their CCTV if it hasn’t been done in the last decade…. but as always these things cost money.

Clearly, didn't work. Needs to be more hard hitting. Like Liverpool's.

This is true and my thoughts are we have to still teach them plus their parents a lesson.

Just answer the simple question if you can. Have you ever done something you later regretted. Not blaming your parents of course. :innocent:

Do we know the police aren't involve, would the club have to ask them to get involved as the flare struck an individual in the lower kop.

As far as I understand it, the Police can only do so if the individual is convicted by a court. A Football Banning Order is a civil order, often imposed following a conviction for a football related offence. They are designed to prevent hooliganism in football, and act as a deterrent for avid football fans against becoming involved in any acts of disorder.

Well with the police involved it's a step to going that far. Whether it does is a different matter.

It's within the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 with a specific section on "Fireworks" section 2A

Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 (legislation.gov.uk)

    The punishment is as below.

A person guilty of an offence under this Act shall be liable on summary conviction—
in the case of an offence under section 1(3) [F2, 1A(3)], 2(1) [F3or 2A(1)], to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or both.

Stupid comment. A better approach is for the club to quickly identify the idiot who did it, ban them for life, and turn them over to the police for a spot at HM pleasure.
