We look more solid and harder to beat which is pleasing but to reach the play offs we need up our game a bit. The good thing is we now have the players capable of doing that.
On paper today is a big ask but on the flip side it is a game I now think we are capable of coming away with three points, then we will have a better idea of if it is achievable. The thing about this club is that any success has usually been against the odds with a late run or beating sides we weren't expected to beat. The run to Wembley 2013, Liverpool to stay in the Premier League, and even beating Wolves to get there.Shelf Bantam and billybantam1988 like this. -

Last night was a taste of what we can expect on the run in teams will be getting bodies behind the ball and it will be very hard to play the nice football we have been doing.
Teams that get promoted often can play a bit and scrap a bit and on occasion play it long in other word be adaptable the recruitment has enabled us with some different threats but I think to get two thirds of the points on offer might be a step to far. Just a pity we didn’t have a few more in the bag before T&S took overStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bronco and bantamdave41 like this. -

Another club at the top who ain't that good
However, Cheltenham, Exeter, Tranmere, Bolton and Salford are hence why the play-offs are our best chance -

I've just looked at all our fixtures up until the re arranged Scunny game in late March.
Every game against a team above us.
Keep our form going then we will be big movers in the table.Keefly Bantam likes this. -

After the Crawley game, T and S's first match in charge, we were 14 points from 7th having played the same amount of games.
We were 19 points off 3rd!!
9 games later we are 9 points off the play offs with a game in hand and 13 points off 3rd.
Win this leaves us 6 points off 7th or 10 points off 3rd with 19 games left.
If these 2 can maintain our form then we would be pushing for a top 3 spot potentially in our last few games of the season.Stoneski likes this. -
I think we will make the playoffs no probs, if there's a season to go up its this one, I don't believe it would be too early either as it seems most if the starting 11 could perform in league 1 in my opinion, there would be alot of work to improve the squad to cope but I think we would be fine

Very achievable if we can keep the current form up.

All the top 7 are averaging 1.7 points a game if my maths is right. If they continue that form they should all end up around 75/76 points, the exception being Cambridge on 78.
If we continue our firm we could end on 74/76 so we can do it going by the maths and current form, it would boils down to how we do against the teams currently holding those positions I guess
I do think it is a tall order to keep this up for another 20 games but it's certainly not impossible.Stoneski likes this. -
Interesting to listen to Connor Woods recent interview, where he mentions the fact that the players (as a whole) have their own 'goal' this season. We could think back to the past and believe this would be the all important 'stay up' mentality, however, I would say that this is now a thing of the past.
After beating Cheltenham today, I honestly believe the play offs are now well within reach. I think the players are also aiming for this rather than to avoid relegation.
How fantastic is it that we have all been given some real positive energy, the magnificant 'duo' are working wonders and the January INS/OUTS have really paid off.
City are now 7/2 to finish in the top 7 with bet 365 - I would say that is a very good offer - one which will end at midnight this evening.

The two game a week situation effects virtually every other club (look at Carlisle - who gain the most if they win their games in hand). So those with the best squads, not first team 11's will have an advantage. That means usBronco likes this.
