Football should be about Football and not the 'rights' of Chavs who are hellbent on satisfying their own personal 'enjoyment', whilst annoying the vast majority who take a more adult and sensible approach to the sport.
You may like to consider all this if you watch the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, next year ? Pretty much a good example of how to conduct yourself at a public sporting event.

Don't feel like it's a big deal as long as it's the players approaching the fans instead of the other way around. Creates a bit of atmosphere as opposed to some old farts sitting down clapping over a 90th minute winner. If however the fans go on to the pitch itself then they should be punished, if its just the walkway that a players entered to celebrate with the fans then I don't mind

He should have kept it to WhatsApp, a private bit of ‘bantz’ between mates. Posting it on Twitter was the dick move...But you’re right, now there’s no room for error of judgment anymore, or benefit of the doubt, same with Danny Baker the other month.Rogered Tart likes this. -

You are right though, when the penalties are 100k and upwards you need to take significant measures.
There is no way a club of our size and stature could afford those sort of penalties.Interested Bystander likes this. -

It is an offence for a person at a designated football match to go onto the playing area, or any area adjacent to the playing area to which spectators are not generally admitted, without lawful authority or lawful excuse (which shall be for him to prove).Storck likes this. -

I'm sure there's a point to what you're saying, I'm just not seeing it.
Everyone in that stadium knows not to encroach onto the pitch area, except anyone under 2 years old maybe, and no, being overjoyed at opening up a two-goal cushion with seconds to go does not excuse it. It's not a rush of adrenaline any more than any other game, it was just a nothing goal in an otherwise unimportant fixture (three points notwithstanding), so seeing as there aren't any valid excuses for encroaching onto the playing area, what's wrong with enforcing the rule with the relevant consequences?
It's hardly martyrdom, they're hardly going to get persecuted, if they get banned, well, they knew that was a possibility and that's how society works.
No idea why you're overreacting, to be honest. Break rule, receive slap on the wrist, back to normal.Sandbeds Bantam likes this. -

On tv it looks a bit embarrassing tbh. And as tarty says, totally premeditated. It wasn’t like it was a proper 90th minute winner, it’s all done for show, not spontaneous. They just want on tv and the players running that way gives them
a bit of a window of opportunity.
However, I do agree that the day there is no way fans could possibly ever celebrate with players, on the odd, rare occasion of a really thrilling late goal would be a shame. Now i’m not saying fans going on the pitch, but if a player goes in to celebrate with supporters then I don’t really see the problem with that. But what we are seeing at VP isn’t this and if identified they have to accept the punishment. Whatever that may be.
Having said that, i wonder how many posters have ever been on the pitch? I realise maybe not in the same context as what we are discussing above, but i bet there are a few. Myself included. I’ve gone and done it now....Tyneside likes this. -

Andy Holt (Accrington Stanley owner) has, yesterday, indicated that they will be introducing charging a premium for matches against problem teams, in the first instance Blackpool (after their fans set off smoke bombs at the last match). This is because the Police have informed him that they will have to pay £5.50 per spectator next time, plus increased numbers of stewards, plus a reduction in capacity.
Blackburn Rovers have already introduced category A+ for problem teams this season, with a premium of £12 being added to ticket prices for such visiting teams.
If City suddenly fans suddenly found themselves having to pay an extra £276 to attend away league matches each season, would they really treat such incidents as smoke bombs and running onto the pitch perimeter as trivial events?Stop hovering to collapse...
