Not the best acoustics but here if you want a listen, nothing ground breaking.

Fast forward to 9 minutes as it does not start at the beginning for some reason.

Best solution in my opinion would be for a fans consortium to buy the ground from the pension fund, (obviously dependent on their willingness to sell). We could then lease the ground (25 years) to the owner ensuring the ground club is safe for the fans (unless the owner takes the franchise elsewhere).
This would then provide a return on investment for the fans or make the rent low enough that the owner can invest more in the club.

Can't disagree with what you're saying. I was basing the argument on the rumours of consortium interest in the uk and Italian based interest that I'd heard of back in 2019. The location of the ground is irrelevant provided the football club are there and the Pension Fund sell.

I suppose then, the only real option is a total buyout including ground purchase (at a price agreeable to the Pension Fund), sign a new lease (long or short term), ground share or build our own (at a price probably 10x the price of Valley Parade with 2/3 capacity).

Sure about that - I make 10 000 000 / 14 000 = 714 each. Plus you could probably get a few rich business types to chip in (like Fordy) and I bet that you'd get people who don't buy a season ticket willing to contribute as well. And who says it's worth £10? Virtually zero development potential in the middle of some very poor housing, an old quarry underneath it which in itself would make development for housing really expensive, and someone would have to pay to demolish the stadium. £3M? with 15000 subscriptions? £200 each

I think we would be poorer for leaving. I can't think of any new built stadium in literally about 30 years that I think looks good, or represents a good fan experience, bar maybe tottenhams. If we did get a new stadium, it would be a soulless 12k bowl that would actually just be called the utilita energy stadium or whatever rather than everyone just calling it VP really, it all just sounds shit to me. VP for all its faults has a lot of charm and character, which won't be easily replicated elsewhere. If we had enough money to build a new stadium we would have more than enough to do VP up to its former glory.

Buying it will be tricky but as much as Gibb holds the cards, he is also pretty buggered if City aren't there so he's got motivation to do a deal if the numbers are right imo

    14k x £71,500 = £1 billion (give or take the odd million)
We'd be the next Man City

I would be prepared to invest that amount. In fact I could probably go higher than £714. But lets be realistic, you could probably get about 300 fans at the best who would invest around £1,000 each, that would be far short of the figures required.
Even then, the Pension Fund are under no compulsion to sell.
If you want to set up a fund, whereby £200 shares could be offered, with a guarantee of full return of monies (less reasonable admin costs), if the target was not met or the objective within a set timescale say 5 years from the launch, then go ahead. I would be happy to look at the scheme. Perhaps in partnership with a Credit Union?

My youngest is in her final year at Manchester Uni studying English - but has still found time to sneak into the back of a couple of Brian Cox's lectures. He's a draw is that there Oldham lad.

I can't see why Gordon Gibb/the Pension Fund would contemplate selling Valley Parade the return they are getting is a great deal for them.
But let's play devils advocate and say they were prepared to let it go and allow Stefan to purchase it, with him being an astute business man he would purchase Valley Parade through his holding company and Bradford City FC would not own the stadium, much like I believe is the situation at Posh and several more clubs.

Stefan would then become our land lord rather than Gibb/pension fund, hopefully he would reduce our rent which would then give him more finacial clout with regards transfer dealings, which again should give us a better chance of sucsess, although as we know from past experiences money doesn't always bring sucsess on the football pitch.

If Stefan ever did want to sell the club it would put him in a powerful position as he owns both the football club and the stadium.
Would potential buyers purchase the club without a ground of their own, possibly Stefan did, but I think any potential buyer would want the club lock stock and barrel.

It will be interesting to see what happens if Bradford's bid to become City of Culture in 2025 is successful. It might lead to major investment that would see your regeneration ideas realised, or then again, we might just end up with a few trestle tables in Centenary Square selling 'street' food and a party box of Standard fireworks.

Don't mistake satire and dry humour for pessimism and negativity. I agree with you, there is a huge amount of untapped potential in our city and the reason it is not being realised is 100% down to poor leadership.
