Exactly mate becuase if it is then i can see refunds being demanded. I for one am not going to sit and watch a sporting event with a fecking mask on.

Remember that this is the second test event for City and they will want to demonstrate that they are following best practice and any guidance set down by the Council (with regards to the grounds Safety Certificate), in order to get the nod to return to full capacity (government/FA/EFL rules permitting).

Nobody seems to know what the rules will be when the league season starts so, at the moment, I wouldn't read too much into the rules for tomorrow's match.

Balanced retort. I'm guessing we have to hope for transparency from the club which I'm hopeful on but as for the council /government, hmmm

I can't remember which poster was referring to refunds. Now I'm nowhere near that line of thinking of refunds. Far from it.
I want to attend Valley Parade. As soon as possible.
Passports put me off. My personal reason. Masks are a hindrance at this stage but not a total off putter. After reflecting, I'm out tomorrow. I need to want to attend and a pre season friendly with contradiction, is easily missable.
I mean Doncaster last week, Wembley a fortnight ago but tomorrow...

    Edit... @bantam2708@bantam2708 disproved my ignorance!!

I wasn't aware that City were running their own test events at VP. I've just read on the club website however that the Covid rules for the Blackburn game are the same as for the Donny game.

I do hope I don't need to make a stand, but this is total nonsense after what we have seen recently with regards the Wembley Euro final, the 3 - T20 Blast games against Pakistan.

In my opinion if you have to wear a mask to watch any out door event that is ticket controlled then it shouldn't be taking place. I get indoor crowded spaces but not outside in a big arena.

Is it left to each individual club to come up with their terms regarding Covid we go from a crowd of well over 1.000 at Brighouse Town openly mingling with each other having a beer where they had to queue up, same with a burger ETC, it is a shocking move by the club if they stick to these draconian rules.

The Euro finals and the T20 games were part of the Trial Events programme. You had to either have proof of a double vaccine or a recent negative Covid test to gain admission to the game. Masks then weren't required if you met the admission requirements

We had a 4 day break in a hotel, many who were exempt had a lanyard with exempt NHS on them but that was inside a hotel, as you say it will take some policing, even though we have disagreed on Covid and the wearing of masks how can the club justify these rules when we have witnessed sport on TV where fans were very much mixing with no masks or social distancing.

Then football fans attending games at their clubs ground should at least be offered the same situation.
I posted a while ago about Ryan saying there wouldn't be a need for Claret and Amber season tickets this coming season that suggested to most there would be little restrictions if any, I'm sure if we fans had been told we would be expected to wear masks all the time inside the stadium there may not have been 12,000+ purchase very disappointing news.

I'd say most fans would accept that situation, just how are they going to control potentially 15/16,000 at the Oldham home game wearing masks whilst seated.

Yes I agree, they should. And that's the rationale behind the use of a Covid Pass to get admission to large(ish) sporting events. A Covid pass demonstrates that either the person has already had a double jab or a recent negative Covid test and that a mask wouldn't be mandatory. Exactly as for the Trial Events programme.

Hopefully the PL and the EFL will cnfirm very soon how that is intended to work.

Lets hope I'm getting a little in front of myself, I can't imagine not attending when a home game on, we have a few weeks to see how things go.

Ah but nightclubs have ventilation but can be rammed to the roof.

We all know where the blame for this monumental F/Up goes to.?

Spot on, iff implemented for the season the club will take a big hit this is one restriction too far IMO.
