Then football fans attending games at their clubs ground should at least be offered the same situation.
I posted a while ago about Ryan saying there wouldn't be a need for Claret and Amber season tickets this coming season that suggested to most there would be little restrictions if any, I'm sure if we fans had been told we would be expected to wear masks all the time inside the stadium there may not have been 12,000+ purchase very disappointing news.

Spot on, iff implemented for the season the club will take a big hit this is one restriction too far IMO.

I've answered yes, but I expect to choose to only on public transport.

Personally, I'm of the opinion we should be wearing them in public even if COVID wasn't an issue. We lose so many days of productivity because of silly illnesses like colds that are spread because people walk around coughing everywhere, putting their germ-carrying hands all over everything and just the general thing of invading others space (be it because they are just ignorant twats who despite there being space feel the need to stand mm's away from you or because we pack people into places like sardines). There are just simple things we can be doing that really aren't a hardship that could help improve the health of the country but people are too self-obsessed and want to act like some common decency is a real hardship (And for the record I don't like wearing a mask, I wear glasses and it causes them to steam up no matter what I try but I'm find doing it for the good of others)

Just been to B&M at Baildon Bridge and at Greengates. At least 80% of customers wearing masks.

The club will need many more stewards if they genuinely believe fans will keep their masks on once they are seated, absolutely rediculas and it wont happen.
The club needs to revisit this mask situation as you say in an open stadium no fans is going to not sing, chant, shout and generally get involved with the game with a mask on.

Coming from you Dave thats some statement
Without going back is this a club decision or an instruction from "they who must be obeyed"
Would be very surprised if It's a club decision to be honest
Fear and control springs to mind

Remember that this is the second test event for City and they will want to demonstrate that they are following best practice and any guidance set down by the Council (with regards to the grounds Safety Certificate), in order to get the nod to return to full capacity (government/FA/EFL rules permitting).

Nobody seems to know what the rules will be when the league season starts so, at the moment, I wouldn't read too much into the rules for tomorrow's match.

Balanced retort. I'm guessing we have to hope for transparency from the club which I'm hopeful on but as for the council /government, hmmm

I can't remember which poster was referring to refunds. Now I'm nowhere near that line of thinking of refunds. Far from it.
I want to attend Valley Parade. As soon as possible.
Passports put me off. My personal reason. Masks are a hindrance at this stage but not a total off putter. After reflecting, I'm out tomorrow. I need to want to attend and a pre season friendly with contradiction, is easily missable.
I mean Doncaster last week, Wembley a fortnight ago but tomorrow...

    Edit... @bantam2708@bantam2708 disproved my ignorance!!

I do hope I don't need to make a stand, but this is total nonsense after what we have seen recently with regards the Wembley Euro final, the 3 - T20 Blast games against Pakistan.

In my opinion if you have to wear a mask to watch any out door event that is ticket controlled then it shouldn't be taking place. I get indoor crowded spaces but not outside in a big arena.

The Euro finals and the T20 games were part of the Trial Events programme. You had to either have proof of a double vaccine or a recent negative Covid test to gain admission to the game. Masks then weren't required if you met the admission requirements

We had a 4 day break in a hotel, many who were exempt had a lanyard with exempt NHS on them but that was inside a hotel, as you say it will take some policing, even though we have disagreed on Covid and the wearing of masks how can the club justify these rules when we have witnessed sport on TV where fans were very much mixing with no masks or social distancing.

Yes I agree, they should. And that's the rationale behind the use of a Covid Pass to get admission to large(ish) sporting events. A Covid pass demonstrates that either the person has already had a double jab or a recent negative Covid test and that a mask wouldn't be mandatory. Exactly as for the Trial Events programme.

Hopefully the PL and the EFL will cnfirm very soon how that is intended to work.

Apparently it was the same set of instructions for the Doncaster friendly but it seems no one was wearing a mask at their seats.

The Doncaster game was pre 19th July so I would have accepted those rules last week.

The piece refers to the local authorities which to me sounds like Bradford Council are involved. Bradford Council would have us locked up forever, they send people round door to door for testing and just this week have sent out two e-mails telling people to wear masks even though the law has changed. I think everyone will ignore this request today. I certainly will be.
