I’m pretty certain there are 20 teams in a worse position than us. The aim has to be automatic promotion, anything less and Stuart has failed again and will have achieved nothing more than Boring Bowyer did.

Anyway, to follow in line with this pessimism I’ll go for a 24th place finish. That way anything better can be celebrated in true city fan style.

Some fans on here have expectations so low that it’s no wonder we can’t attract decent investment from the bosses.

 

Wouldn't say better but did compete until our fitness levels dropped alarmingly quite surprising as we have been back in training a few weeks now Maybe it was smoke and mirrors Stuart saying the levels were "through the roof"

Football clubs will be fine. Our issue is different. We won't move forward under Rupp and Rhodes. It really is that clear.

 

I watched the Huddersfield friendly and only logged on here at half time and the comments were full of praise for the performance.
It seems that Stuart wants to play a high pressing game which demands a very high level of fitness to maintain over 90 minutes.
They are still in pre season mode with double training sessions and that leaves tired legs. Not saying there aren’t areas that need to improve like pace up front but the first half showed that with two or three additions we can do well

 

A terrible situation for clubs supporters up and down the country. The "chicks have come home to roost" for some clubs and ultimately, the supporters and local community are the ones who suffer.

 

No I think what is clear is that we are not in that position

 

I like the idea of us playing the high pressing game it gives the defence a chance to mark their man and regroup
Problem is our front four would struggle to press their trousers.

 

Surely the salary cap suits those smaller teams more so they will be on a more even footing. It’s weakened us and our awful negotiation skills to add to that and we have a threadbare squad which only has a handful of talent in it.
I don’t see how because of covid and salary cap we should be higher up the league as a result? Our existing players were crap anyway

 

I'm normally an optimist but at the moment, I'm really worried about those bottom 2 positions. Suppose it depends who else we can bring in. One thing for sure, we have no one who is going to run past defenders even at this level. There were reasons behind our tired performance in the second half on wednesday but can anyone tell me which of our players would have got into that town junior side.

 

I'm sure Rupp and Rhodes would like to go providing the price is right, but what is that price? If Rupp hangs on for his price, will he lose even more and who will buy a div 1 or 2 team at the moment? I don't think we have mental institututions these days, if we did, we would have to scour them to find a rich person.

 

Nothing is clear unless it comes from the owner or CEO and then you have to think if you believe them.

Not sure JR has any financial ties to the club as far as I am aware he can walk away anytime last I heard he was trying to find his successor (someone to fill his shoes)
