this isn't a punishment at all

Honestly it was a tight game before ET even their manager said that. he did also say his bench was a lot stronger than ours which is also true. bit disappointed we are the ones being punished for someone else's doing.

 

So you think their is some kind of FA conspiracy against little old league 2 Bradford? Give over. Had this been an Exeter mess up then it’s an easy decision for the FA to make. They get kicked out. The fact they haven’t been should tell you all you need to know about where the fault lies.

 

But we still lost 3 nil….. Exeter went through. They are now having to replay. What part of them being punished and us getting a 3rd chance to go through is hard to understand?

 

Whichever way this is spun on this thread, what's abundantly clear is that a professional football match has gone ahead without either the officials or teams involved having full understanding the rules. And once again, it's fans that are played for mugs and players suffer by being asked to cram more football into an already tight schedule.

Any idea what the extent of the three injuries we picked up on Tuesday's non-event were anyway?

Its a farcical decision really.

And I'm assuming that Angol's suspension still stands. Any injuries we've picked up will still stand too! As will the fatigue and cost of another long trip to Exeter. I certainly hope the travel costs of the club for this week's game will be covered by Exeter. Shame that the fans' costs won't be.

 

I don't see what's amusing here? The whole episode makes the FA, Exeter City & Bradford City look incredibly amateur.

Adams quite rightly biting his lip knowing full well that the FA doesn't respond well to home truths.

 

I said I was out of here - and i am - but just thought I'd let you know that all club travel costs and accommodation are covered by match day gate receipts anyway in the FA Cup

 

it was 0-0 before the 6th sub? just because a player doesn't score or assist means they haven't contributed to the result is a tad naïve. we don't concede in 1.5 hours then concede 3 in 10 minutes clearly has something to do with that.

they get to play at home again to a team that has to travel 280 miles to play them. where is the deterrent?

 

Personally, I think Exeter should be made to release all profit from the first match, possibly by way of a charitable donation. I see no reason why you should be in a position to double your gate receipts on the back of an embarrassing error. I know we're not talking huge sums, but there is a principle.

 

I dont see how that embarrasses us or Adams? Agree RE the other two

Purely by association. No idea what happened the Lavery sub but there seems to have been some confusion on our side as well.

 

This is all setting up for a bit of end of season rivalry now. We’ll beat them in the replay now we’ve added motivation…..and we may well end up meeting in the playoffs /battling for seventh

 

Quite refreshing having someone on here who knows what they talk about rather than the faux outrage on here 99% of the time.

 

I think once you see them make a sixth you try too…..level things up?

 

But even if the assistant ref said you could make a sixth, did your manager not know the rules? Is he passing the buck completely?

the clubs should know the competition rules. Fans understandably can’t keep up but clubs employ people who should note these things. When naming a squad etc surely they know how many subs they are allowed??

 

Or THEY'LL be motivated, put the game to bed early and it'll end up being a colossal waste of everyone's time.

Maybe. Not saying that we did attempt to level things up with a sixth sub because I wasn't there to view it and don't know what occurred on the touchline, but if we did attempt to level it up then that would suggest we also weren't sure on the rules no?

Like I say though, the poor outlook on our part is largely down to association with this sorry state of affairs.
