Fear your big expectations for January may be misguided

 

To make it worse if we dare, 3 wins we got back to back in mid August we’re against Oldham 23rd in league, Stevenage 21st in league and Mansfield 18th in the league.
It’s pretty dreadful.

 

You're right, no knee jerk decisions on ET. Just on the previous 16 matches where we've won 2.

This team is doing a good job of seemingly playing reasonably well when looking at a singular match but when you look back all the way to the Mansfield match its like some kind of hurricane of carnage. 2 wins in 16 or 17 is awful.

 

.."He deserves time as we are far better than last season but that wasn’t asking for much" You just alluded to mate and I also stated that we could not carve out a win which had become somewhat of a pattern. Not sure I can trust Adams as time is the enemy without doubt.

 

Problem is, that there's simply no "winning mentality" at the club at the moment. A win today, regardless of it being an FA Cup tie, would have given us much needed confidence. I'd say we're going into every game recently, not expecting to win. That's something that has to be cut out of a football club. As others have mentioned, this record of 2 wins in over 20, would have many managers losing their jobs.
And it seems like the happy clappers don't mind, as long as we play well. AK just quoted as saying "you have to admire Bradford City tonight, they played so so well".

 

I think where Morecambe were is going to become like our “do you remember when we got promoted under Jewell? We didn’t win the first 5 games and look how that turned out”.

We are not Morecambe. Expectations are different, the pressure is different, the season and circumstances are very different.

 

We’ve come up against FGR, Port Vale and Exeter (for 2 x 90 mins in cup and league game….ignore ET tonight) and nothing has split us.

we are not a million miles off, ladies and gents, don’t let the emotion of an ET gubbing get in the way of reality.

adams is the man. He needs backing in Jan and allowed to work with the list he’s assembled with his new scouting network.

 

Maybe - although the Paul Jewell comparisons make a lot less sense when we've had managers that weren't as good as Jewell in charge most of the time since!

At least Derek Adams is as good as... Derek Adams

Add to that pandemic football which would have assisted Morecambe.

 

Are the hierarchy at the Club aware that this is a results based business?

 

I don't doubt Adams. I doubt whether he'll be backed.
