No, employ the best person to do the job, not solely because they have worked there in the past.

Indeed, your info is incorrect. Please carefully read the super post from Dennis which has it all spot on. How do I know?, simply because I was on the Board and saw it all happen in front of me. Make no mistake, at a time we were strapped for cash David Baldwin took a significant risk to help the Club. As it happened DB came out very slightly on top but it could have gone the other way. Irrespective the Club got much needed income at a vital time. Hats off to DB.
As far as your other comment regarding another person working for nothing I can clearly state that up to the time of the takeover in May 2016 no direct employee of BCFC worked for nothing. How do I know?, I was still on the Board and had access to the full payroll details. Equally if what you claim to be the case happened post 2016 then that would have encouraged a "..Company within a Company.." which Stefan and Edin did not want and closed down. With respect then you are wrong with both your claims.
Oh and please stop misquoting Club within a Club, the correct quote from Stefan in Matter of Heart is set out above. Do I know what went on and with whom?, yes I do, I have all the papers and statements but that is not a matter for public knowledge, the matter is closed and history. As I said on this thread earlier to Edwin and Old City Man, we move on, I suggest you join us in that aim.

    Roger Owen.

I know some people won't care for it but I do like it when Roger Owen comes on and attempts to clarify things. I also like the idea that he mentions information that is "not a matter for public knowledge". As much as we would like to know everything, surely we can't argue with that idea?

I agree, let’s put it behind us. We need every bit of energy and positivity directed towards supporting the team and club.

Sorry as will no doubt be repeating what others have said but just got in from work and overjoyed to hear the news we all wanted to happen. Time for the club and fans to pull together in the way they always have in the past, and always will when we feel injustice and mismanagement is prevalent. One last thing, lets get right behind Stephan when he is next over for a match, he know he has made a big mistake in ER but his comments in the T&A are immensely heartening and lets be honest, once the fans and press started to expose the Rahic regime, he has acted with swiftness and decisiveness in getting JR back in, removing ER and started the building blocks by committing that 'Bradford deserves better'.

Big challenge ahead and this does remove the massive job ahead but boy does it feel better tonight :brig:

Excellent post Edwin, totally agree, what's done is done, no going back. Moving forward is a big enough battle without meaningless distractions. As you say more professionalism needed and some of us are determined to help Julian and Stefan achieve this.

At this point in time, I don't want to hear nothing more in terms of Mr Rahic from those 'ITK' or from previous tenures. Time and a place

Yes, think you might Old Man. I have corrected this before on here but once again for the sake of attempted clarity.
It was Stefan who coined the phrase "..."Company within a Company.." in 'Matter of Heart'. He did not 'quote' it as Broncs says, he actually said it, it was not therefor something he had been told it was something he had found for himself, along with Edin and I believe he chose his words carefully.
The reason I say this is there is a big difference between "..a Club within a Club.." and what was actually said. The Club statement implies something along the lines of a clique or group of people who don't necessarily fall in with the rest, they are apart for whatever reason.
The "..Company.." statement, however is a whole different matter. Company implies a business venture when it is phrased around another business (the Football Club) in this instance. The Football Club is a financial entity so therefore the "Company" within it clearly has some financial implication. Hope that helps without spelling it out anymore.
My explanation is why I totally agree with Mike Hunt and his post above, best people needed.

Club within a club is now over and out and that’s something Edin and Stefan sorted so I take my hat off to them. We need to move on now and employ new and real professionals We have Julian so that’s a great start as he knows the football business inside out !

It involved David Baldwin and it happened many years ago not long after ML invested in the club and when things were very tight financially. When DB returned from Spain, ML asked his mate DB to review the club's commercial opportunities to see whether the club could raise more money from non footballing activities. At the time, DB was not employed by the club and the work was done pro bono. When DB identified that the club wasn't making best use of its advertising space, he offered to help the club by buying the spare advertising rights for a guaranteed fee (I think just for the perimeter hoardings) and for him (or rather one of his own companies if I recall correctly )to be able to sell those rights to others. And it worked for all parties according to DB. The club received a guaranteed amount from DB when it didn't have the capacity to negotiate those things and DB made money from the sell-on. According to DB, the arrangement ended about the time he was appointed as the chief operating officer and the hoarding advertising was taken back in-house.

It's an exaggeration, no distortion to suggest that DB was a senior manager at the time and that the arrangements somehow subsidised his salary. That wasn't the case. As you say, it was a very similar arrangement to what DB later introduced for the club for the catering and merchandising contracts.

    Bronco.
Now is the time to really get behind Hopkin.
Ive been in contact with half a dozen folk this evening , who now are thinking of going down to Plymouth, That is the Rahic effect now coming to a conclusion.
With 3 home games thereafter (1 cup & 2 league).
\hopefully we can seize this upturn especially the relief from the majority of supporters and the players can get back to winning ways
    ;)

If the club had made public the reason for him leaving I’d be surprised if the charities would want him involved.
