But he didn't score 23 goals for Bradford City.

It will look equally embarrassing if he returns to VP having scored 21 goals (exc penalties) in 21 games for Swindon and then reverts to his last season's scoring performance when he scored 7 (exc penalties) in 46 games for us. On that same basis and if played in the same manner, he should score about 3 in the remainder of the season!

At the end of the day, Wellens has brought the best out of Doyle when at both Swindon and Oldham (11 goals in 12 appearances). If he doesn't recapture that kind of form when back at VP, there will be questions asked of GB's tactics. And who do you think would be most embarrassed by that?

Bowyer's tactics are already questioned by those that's go to games but it's something he can change.

With Swindon they get men into the box but they count on Doyle to finish as the rest barring Yates are not that great.

As Leeds found out yesterday, you can play pretty football but in different levels you need a top finisher. In Div 2, Doyle is a top finisher!

Bradford City do create chances but don't have a finisher in Doyle.

I'm a firm believer that Doyle, Vaughan and Donaldson takes this club up to div 1 for sure!

All depends how serious the club is about going up!

Oh and we don't need Doyle to score 23 goals for us as I think we're a better all round team than Swindon.

His tactics are questioned and answered by where we are in the league and the best home league record. A good answer I would say. A change of tactic may work there again it may not.

In all honesty it doesn't matter what you believe or what I do. It will be down to Rupp, JR, Bowyer and Doyle himself to decide what's best for each party.

Doyle is a good player and goalscorer as he has proved at Swindon, Oldham and Chesterfield when played in his preferred role. But under Bowyer that wasn't possible last season (Doyle is not a natural target man) and certainly this season with GB's preferred tactic of a strong defensive set-up, I don't believe Doyle will get the same opportunities and I don't believe GB will change his pattern of play fundamentally to get the best out of Doyle. Playing 5 at the back with a couple of defence minded midfielders is not conducive to the attack minded, flexible and more risk taking setup he would thrive in. And you can guess what will happen both inside VP and on places such as BT if Doyle doesn't recreate his goalscoring form from Swindon.

Why leave out the penalty’s he scored for us but count them in his total for them?

If he comes back and don’t score goals or plays without interest, other clubs may think twice before signing him up next season

Fair comment. I'll deduct the two penalties he has scored for Swindon. But it doesn't change the overall picture much.

Doyle has put himself in the shop window big time.

If he comes back he will want to maintain his value
So I can't see him not bothering. He will want the
Opportunity to keep his options as lucrative as
Possible so can only be good for us as long as we
play him and give him the chance to help us get
    Promotion.

And wont in total under Bowyer if he plays for another 3 seasons
Doyle's return depends entirely on whether GB is prepared to change his tactics
If not he should stay where he is
Vaughan plays a shadow of what he is capable of and looks increasingly frustrated
Neither are suited to his style of play

I'm sure the club will tell us one way or the other, but it might be worth a run down ;).

We have to bring him back first, I do think he could score goals in this team but not by playing him in a position behind the front two.

When Donaldson is back Vaughan will have plenty of chances and will be at or close to 20 goals

Bowyer never wanted Doyle to leave so I would be shocked if he doesn't want a 23 goals man back.

It's not down to Doyle at all as he's under contract. His family live in the North West so I would be shocked he would be that bothered about coming back as he can be at home every night.

As for Bowyer's tactics who do you suggest we sign then? As much as the football is dull we do create. Donaldson and Vaughan have missed so right chances. Doyle I finishing

I would rather Doyle and Vaughan up top than Connelly and Oteh.

Get Connelly back out wide with Harry on the other side with Doyle & Vaughan up top until Donaldson is back and we will be winning a lot more games for sure.

    Really !!!
If Bowyer didn't want him to leave why did he sign Vaughan and Donaldson
Neither Vaughan nor Doyle would have been happy to warm the bench or even worse be used as target men
