Grealish is the more "madness" one. Yet to notch a goal or assist in 2024 and might go to the Euros.

Unfortunately for Bowen, he tends to only play on the right or up top and he isn't starting on the right over Saka, Foden or Palmer and he wont get upfront with Kane, Toney, Watkins and probably Rashford more likely to start up there before him.

    Or Grealish.

Although I suppose Bowen is right sided and these two are left if that makes any difference.

Edit - just seen Jordan's post which makes mine irrelevant!

Grealish does offer something different. The stats dont back his claim but he can make things happen and cause problems, whether that is winning a free kick or forcing a corner etc.

A yes for me, this time. He will have a job on going to the the WC in 2026 though.

Apparently Southgate has submitted a 40 man squad to Uefa already. Prelim squad is announced on Tuesday 21st.

Pickford, Ramsdale, Pope, Henderson, Butland (5)

Walker, Trent, Trippier, Shaw, Chillwell, Mitchell (6)

Stones, Maguire, Dier, Gomez, Branthwaite, Dunk, Konsa, Tomori, Guehi, Colwill (10)

Rice, Mainoo, Henderson, Wharton, Bellingham, Maddison, Gallagher, Eze, Elliott (9)

Foden, Saka, Rashford, Grealish, Palmer, Gordan, Bowen (7)

    Kane, Watkins, Toney, (3)

Think that will be something like the 40. A few young lads called in for experience and a few who have been injured so he can take a look at the fitness. I could be wrong on Solanke though.

James, Phillips, Mount, Sancho and Sterling still miss out IMO.

A 40 man squad..... jesus wept, Gareth! Parking will be fun at St Georges.

I get wanting to look at options or the younger kids, but there's probably 16/17 off the top of my head that will be on the plane? The rest will just be to cover spaces and probably will barely feature.

yeh maybe 3 or 4 kids with a view for the World Cup. A bit of experience...

There are a few injury doubts so he probably needs to look at 1 or 2 to fill in for Shaw and maybe Maguire.

If that is the list, I'm glad the Palace young lads are getting some recognition because Mitchell, Eze and Wharton have been fantastic the last few months.

There's a lot on that list who are heavily linked with transfers this summer. Ramsdale, Trippier, Mitchell, Branthwaite, Tomori, Guehi, Gallagher, Eze & Toney all could likely move on this summer to new clubs. Apparently Bayern are going to try again for Walker, Rashford has been questioned if he will try kickstart somewhere else, Bowen might move up in the world too? Could be a hell of a lot of distractions!

Maybe he could convince Olise to switch as he got left out of the French squad. :)

I think he will have called up 5 or 6 goalkeepers TBH. Pope has hardly played so possibly Henderson (2nd choice most of season), Trafford (lost his place) and Butland will be there too.

There could be around 10 CB's too. And Lewis, Livramento, Wharton, Miley, Elliot etc who are young and maybe ready to make the step up next season.

Love the look of Wharton, bit upset he doesn't just have plain black gola boots though, seems the type. Seems like he's the natural upgrade on Phillips for that next in line CM slot behind Rice. Lewis and Elliott, might be this summer or maybe one more season but they are approaching the Palmer time of last summer, where it's getting to the "use me or lose me" time. They'll probably have one more season of this bit part, maybe a start every 4 games or so unless injuries to key men occur and then next summer might be the trigger for those two. Lewis especially.

Looking onto the World Cup, Walker will be 36 and Tripper 35. Trent will likely be a full midfielder by that point, James seems to be constantly injured. We're going to quickly go from having 4 top RB options to maybe 1? Should be time for Lewis to step up and see if he is the next one. Maguire, Dunk & Henderson all likely their last tournament chance too, a lot of the senior players wont be around for the WC so I'd be giving these young lads all the exposure I could at the min.

Wharton class, if Mainoo hadn't recently joined the party then I would say he goes as Rice's deputy.

Walker could go this season - I wouldn't rule Bayern out. Lewis is good enough to replace IMO and they have the Brazilian Couto who has just had a good season at Girona. Elliott might get more opportunities if Salah finally leaves.

Yeh Walker and Tripper probably finished as England internationals after this tournament. Trent, I agree, think he is shite at right back and much better at CM. See what the new manager thinks....although I wouldnt rule him going to Real Madrid.

If James sorts out his injury problems then he is the RB for the next 5 or 6 years. If Southgate goes then Ben White will be back playing IMO. Lewis and Livramento the future at this stage.

I hope so, for Englands sake. Why on earth would Man Yoo want him though. Done absolutely nothing at club level.

He's Ashworths boy. He'll be finding the next boss and I think Southgate will be a favourite for it when Ten Hag gets sacked.

We've got so much talent at the minute under 23, I want Southgate as far away from them as possible! Hopefully the next manager (think it will be Howe) plays a bit more expansive.

Apparently it is a 30 man squad to be announced today. He did submit 40 names to UEFA a few weeks ago and I dont think he is allowed to pick his 26 out of that now.

I think he will have 20 or so nailed down with GK, LB and CB to only issue.

Find out at 2pm, well it will probably find its way into the leakers by midday. If it's down from 40 to 30, unfortunately I can see the likes of Wharton missing out. Probably only takes 3 keepers too in the 30. Reckon Toney will go in the 30 and they'll monitor Kane as Sky Germany were saying Kanes back tweak is worse than first feared.

There will be a fair few CBs, a fair few wingers and then pick out the unfortunates through there. Got until June 7th I think it was to narrow it down to 26, the 30 will be part of the friendlies I believe.

First leak is that Jordan Henderson is OUT! Instead Curtis Jones will make the squad. James Trafford is expected to be included too.

Also, Henderson is to be named, 4 keepers? Eze, Guehi & Wharton also make it. Palaces end of season form has done wonders. Levi Colwill also going to be called up, surprised at that one as he's barley kicked a ball in 2024.

4 keeps makes sense, he needs to pick his number 3 so will watch both you would think with the unfortunate one left on standby.

Colwill can play CB/LB so a useful one to have I guess.

Sounds like Colwill will be LB back up as Shaw is in but Chilwell is out. No Sterling, but not really a surprise that one.

Also sounds like Jarrell Quansah has pipped Tomori, Dier and Dunk for a slot?
