also, isn't Diamond another central player? We were looking a bit congested in there as it was on Saturday. I think it's an out and out wide man we need.

 

From that picture It looks like he's in the BRI, I thought City had all injuries/operations done at the Yorkshire Clinic.

I wondered that. Is Bollen still our surgeon, and if so, I also thought our players went to the Yorkshire Clinic in Cottingley.

As I've said, if he did sign for us I would love to be proved wrong. Some players perform better in front of smaller crowds, it's nothing more than a hunch but I think Diamond is one of those players.

 

They got 53 points and the same amount of wins as us last season.

 

Sunderland fans seem to think Diamond is leaving on loan, but to Portsmouth. Pompey have lost two wingers this summer and haven't replaced either yet. Apparently Northampton wanted him at the start of the window but Sunderland didn't want to let him leave until they have some recruits in.

 

I was chanting to one this morning too at work, first time I've seen the bloke in the office since Covid. He said he went to our friendly and no Sunderland fan around him sounded impressed with any of them but Diamond was singled out for some reason. Neil had been playing Diamond as a striker all pre season it seems? Sounding like he'll be a local lad the team will just outgrow faster than he will progress.

 

He's under contract for another 2 seasons, so this year development wise is a free hit for them. A good year in L1 on loan will give him a better chance next season in his contract year. Buying out 2 years of a deal but the inflated fee due to his age might put the fee a bit too high for most L1/2 clubs.

 

He might be. Not sure Harrogate have the financial clout either.
