He is. He had a short spell in the first half on Saturday where he kept giving the ball away, but then got his act back together. The lad has vision and isn't afraid to hit a long pass.

 

Our player of the season so far for him when you consider everything.

Taking the responsibility of the midfield at a young age with McCall chopping and changing like no tomorrow.

Div 1 player at least for me. Needs to improve on a few things but he’s going in the right direction.

 

As long as he doesn't get into the habit which I thought the likes of Gerrard, David Bentley etc got into. I can hit a long pass so I will do it for the sake of it. It needs to be done with purpose and to switch play quick. Not a show off. You see it at all lengths of football even amateur. Interesting on MOTD they showed Matic blasting in quick short passes, which can be more effective than a long drifter

 

And Ian Banks.

 

Marco Sas was rather partial to a driven long pass if I remember correctly.

 

You mean a hoofed ball up the field with no direction. Subtle difference, Marco Sas was quality when he wanted to be though.

 

Sas used to like the hard driven, sweeping diagonal pass to a wide man. They weren't just aimless hoofs. Trouble was they were often overhit or going so fast that the wide man couldn't control them.
