Mcardle used to hit some great long passes. Hooofff!! and off it would go into the great sky above.

 

Totally agree. And he and Sutton are good for one another - increasingly reading each other's game.

 

We might struggle to keep hold of Watt next season but I want us to still sign a decent DM/CM that will give Watt & Sutton competition next season and to replace is one is out for what ever reason.

Wouldn't it be great if we can get out of this division with the likes of Watt, Sutton, Cooke, Crankshaw, Vernam, Paudie, FCD, Staunton, Foulds etc. All under 25 - some much younger - and the basis of a long term squad to hopefully challenge in L1.

 

It's the hope! It's the hope that kills us! But seriously, we have a lot of players who wouldn't look at all shoddy in League 1.

 

The inevitable catch-22 situation you get in league 2. Good players will move on, with a logic now UK based players will be in demand due to EU membership.
It's a situation as a club and fans, which we will have to be prepared for and get used to.

I believe they said watching him, unless I’ve missed they’re going in for him. I’d imagine clubs at all levels are now watching plenty of players up and down the leagues. I’d be more surprised if Watt didn’t have a few keeping an eye on him as I imagined Turnbull is currently doing with players at other clubs.

 

well he is under contract, so if they want him, get the cheque book out, lets start at £500,000, with add ons.
The lad has potential , so personally i would like to see him develop with us.

 

Terry Owen. Pacy winger as I recall but can't remember much else about him.

 

Signed both Colin Walker and Terry Owen start of the 1970/71 season first game we beat Walsall at their place and I think Hall scored but both average at best, as it turned out we struggled that season finishing 19th under Jimmy Wheeler.
