Dom Telford has just moved to Crawley and it ain't because hes a fan of NFTs or crypto.

 

Smallwood AND Watt would have been very good.

Not sure whether we have gone for Smallwood as Watt's replacement knowing all along that Watt wasn't staying, or whether we are still in the market for another midfield player as well

 

His time at Rotherham shows exactly what you describe

 

Hope Watt leaves and we get a few quid for him.
He gives away possession far too easily.
Late on in a game, the opposition turning the screw, our players knackered and hanging on, work hard to gain possession And he gets the ball and gives them it straight back to them !

 

Do you think Platt will be better than Paudie? I'm struggling to make that leap of faith, I just don't know.

What's interesting is Crichlow was one of the most active and most accurate passers in the Swindon side last year.

Maybe that gives us an insight into why we've brought him in; not as a blood and thunder defender, but as a very accomplished ball playing defender.

Clearly no league one club wanted to take a punt or give a good wage offer because of having to pay compo is he was left with going for money at Salford or staying and he chose to go.

No sleepless nights for me. Good luck to him but it feels an odd move

Actually shocked by this move. Obvious he was leaving but it's an odd one. His comments really are strange as well. A coach who can improve him? Could Hughes not do that? Has to be money motivated. It is closer, he lives not far from me and Salford is much quicker to get to than Bradford, he will be on the motorway within 10 mins and then from M55 onto M6 in another 10 mins or so, so will cut off probably around 30 mins at least. Still incredibly strange and smacks of lack of ambition.

 

I guess he had his reasons, more than likely financial but then it's a short career. Would have expected a different direction for him but his choice I suppose.

 

Good news.. looking forward to our new midfield enjoying all the possession he'll readily concede, when we play Salford.

 

Were League 1 clubs after him? I think the move tells us that they weren't really.

 

I'm not so sure he did have that many better opportunities, hence why he's plumed for the offer of most money he can get at this level. I remember Darragh saying a few weeks ago Watt's agent approached Peterborough and they told them they weren't interested. I think it's a case of his agent bigging up interest that wasn't actually there.

 

Don’t always agree with Parker but he’s spot on here.

If I’m honest after my initial rant I’m already over it. In a few years time he’ll be another non-descript league 2 player we’ve had in our 9 years in league 2 in my lifetime. We ended 15th and 14th during his legendary spell, the decks have been well and truly cleared.

 

I bet he spat his dummy out after being rollocked last season. I like Watt. On his day he was excellent. But his form was patchy and he had some bad games at times trying the Hollywood ball and giving it away cheaply. Can imagine people having a go about that at times.
