Absolutely. I want to see these stories more often, though I want to see us driving a hard bargain. A couple of years here and then a bigger move is the regular platform we need to be creating. That said, in purely football terms I think he needs another season here. Whether its in League 2 or League 1, 12 more months, maybe 2 years, and then he should be pushing for a championship move. He's got the potential.

Vernam, Crankshaw, Staunton, Paudie, Cooke. These are all players who'd I'd hope are attracting attention from high leagues over the next 12 months.

 

I went to school with Dave Bairstow. Knew him quite well I remember him scoring for City at Rochdale. He was a good keeper as well, I was better (ahem). At 5ft 7ins I was never going to make it though. He was the only "natural" sportsman I knew personally and he was just superb at all sports.

 

Me too. I like him. One of the few we have who, if properly developed, could be worth a few quid in a year or two

 

Well that is pretty much nailed on but we need a competitive squad. Watt will only go if an offer we cant refuse comes in. He wont be pushed out of the door.

 

The lad has potential , i believe he should sign a new deal with a release clause. Another 12 months with us, he could gain promotion and be playing at a higher level next year or have caught the eye and gain a move higher and probably be a regular starter than a possible squad player at any new team. Not been consistent enough as yet to be starting regularly in a higher division.

 

Elliot Watt has consistently been linked to moves to a higher division by his agent.

Don't get me wrong, I see the talent, and the amount of experience he has at his age is impressive, BUT, Darragh is 100 % right - he needs a promotion under his belt, and he needs to boss an entire season before anyone moves in to snap him up for anything other than a developmental deal.

Watt's agent never seems to stop talking about all these people interested in him, but nothing concrete has come from it. Good luck to him touting Watt, the lad deserves the best deal he can get, but I'm not sure he'll be getting the move he wants just yet.

 

If we were to lose Watt and replaced him with an experienced head such as Smallwood (if there are any truth in the rumours) don't think many of us would be too disappointed

The City Vent tweeted it last week the day before Harrat signed. It was promptly taken down after about an hour. That list contained Harrat, Osudebe (who signed today) Timi Odusina and Richie Smallwood. I get the feeling someone from the club saw the list and promptly asked for it to be removed, as not to scupper any unconfirmed transfers, yet the list has been accurate up to date

I go up on Christmas Eve to pick the parsnips and sprouts. Carrots and potatoes will be in store in the cellar. I only freeze peas, sweetcorn and runner and French beans and fruit.

 

Or he could look at Smallwood coming, as less game time for him. All depends what formation MH wants to play, and if we bring in another holding midfielder.

I'm not fussed if he leaves. Flatters to deceive. Too many sideways passes, loses possession and is prone to some rash challenges. The club needs to take a hard line with these out of contract players. If they don't want to commit, then move on. Same with Charlie Wood.

 

He is still contracted until 30th june. So if he is staying , he should be at training.
His absence tells me all i need to know. The issue is probably the amount of compensation we get from the club he is joining.
