I’m sorry, I can’t stand this self impressed ‘we won you lost, everything I believe is correct’ sneering attitude towards people they disagree with. It’s not in the slightest bit helpful or clever.

Do you not think it's a bit of a reaction to the vile stuff being slung about all pre election?

Doubt it. It took fourteen years in opposition after the last Labour electoral defeat on this scale. I have little faith that the LP will recover quickly this time - too many internal divisions.

Time will tell whether the alleged benefits of Brexit, assuming there are any, will outweigh the damage of ten more years of Tory government. You and many others have taken the gamble by switching your allegiance and facilitating a big Tory majority. If it all goes tits up then that gamble will have been a reckless one.

I respect your opinion Steve but please do stop the blame game, you know my position with regards Brexit, and no it's not an obsession as you quoted, the opposition parties brought this situation upon themselves :
Labour were a remain party regardless of the spin, and elected a leader who's past has been questioned many times in the past and unfortunately for Corbyn it would always raise it's head in something like a General Election,
As leader of the opposition to then suggest he was Brexit neutral was a stupid thing to say, he was not convincing anyone and in most cases making it very difficult for other Labour MPs not to make themselves sound stupid in trying to defend him.
I believe it was passed at the Labour party conference for Labour to renegotiated a new deal with the EU if they won the General Election, then go to the country saying as a remain party they wanted the electorate to vote against the very deal they renegotiate, ans stay in the EU.
Lib/Dems shot themselves in the foot with their position on the referendum vote saying they did not recognise it and would revoke it, 17,000,000 potential voters down the drain, clever move Jo.
The Brexit party were never going to get the vote in wards/constituencies where they stood against a Tory candidate, my ward/constituencies for instance.
Greens a nonentity in this election same with the other parties it with all the other remain parties this election was dominated by the Brexit situation even though many argue differently,

All of this is fair enough Dave. But it's all about the process.
But none of it explains how you think Brexit will benefit the country or why you think the leap in the dark gamble on Brexit was worth keeping the Tories in power for another likely ten years.
It's not a blame game. It's a genuine puzzlement as to why people who've hated the Tories all their life think that Brexit is worth facilitating a long Tory government. I'm sure you have your reasons. But no one has given me a coherent explanation of what they are.

I wouldn't have voted Labour if I didn't have more political allegiances with Corbyn than Boris Johnson. Here's the thing though, I'm not arguing that Corbyn hasn't done/said some ridiculous and questionable things. I'm also not arguing that some of his policies weren't wishful thinking and that he didn't play a part in his parties downfall. I'm talking about the bias in the media where the misleading information on him was far more damaging than anything reported on Boris Johnson. Some of the perceptions that people have on him, which have no doubt been fuelled by the press, are simply absurd. If you were born yesterday you'd probably think Adolf Hitler was running for PM.

This is a polical thread where we discuss politics. If you visit a cooking forum and somehow manage to find a thread dedicated to Bradford City under the relevant sub forum then I'm sure no one on there will have any problem with you posting Bradford City related content. It's what it would be for.

What do you mean fair enough? If i employ people or not i could sack them. Thats the tory way, you want that!! Workers rights aint worth a crap anymore so dont go quizzing remainers on what they intend to do with their employees.

Because in using the term 'fair enough' he is saying that it is acceptable to him that because i am self employed its ok that i leave. If on the other hand I had to sack employees then what would not be acceptable.

My point therefore is that I dont have to justify myself to anyone especially not in the right wing society we have just voted for. I can do what I want with my business and I wont take lectures from torys who voted for the very thing we are discussing.

In truth this country served its purpose as a manufacturing base decades ago and has been in terminal decline ever since. All down to the rest of the world progressing, and as you allude to, businesses taking advantage of new untapped cheaper sources of labour. Most of the traditional cities and towns that grew on the back of the industrial revolution have no USP any more, all of these areas developed on the back of manufacturing and the associated industries used to service these bases.

Yeah im furious. Im a high rate tax payer with no representation. Disenfranchised, politically homeless and patriotic. When that description of a person was last used we were told to pay attention or face the consequences. I suggest you do the same.
