Fan base, history, stadium size, recent successes and the desirability factor where players will prefer to play here than for any other league 2 / league 1 club.
Can you name another league 2 club who can trump us on all the above?

Thanks for that Mike, I shall now go off and cry! The 13000 season ticket holders have not one thing to look forward next season, or any season in the future. We won’t be able to compete with fecking Salford! They will be paying LG 1 wages, because they are backed by millionaires and billionaires. Bradford as a city is dead! Despite being the youngest city in the UK!

City as a club is finished, is that what you are saying?

 

We will need to work very hard next season to compete as we will be everybody’s cup final. We also need to be looking forward, we can’t just buy players who will do for LG 2, we have to build for not only this season, but the next season. We must get out of this mindset of feeling sorry for ourselves. We are where we are on merit thanks to Rahic and his near destruction of our club. We might not make it in one season either. It is going to cost big bucks just to keep us going, so let’s just get our mindset right as fans.

 

We only ever had two decent budgets the last time we were down here. £1.8m - 08/09 season thanks to Lawn’s loan and £2.15m the year were were promoted.

Only Parkinson was backed by the board, really.

 

As has been said, it's a mix isn't. You don't define the size of a club by it's playing budget do you? People talk about big clubs by the following and it's always been the same why try complicate something that doesn't need to be?

Teams like Sheffield United, you are saying that sort of logic they wouldn't be classed to be a bigger club than Bournemouth which they, it's not difficult and we will be the biggest team in that division no matter how you try to put it. Who do you think will be bigger than us and for what reasons @Mike Hunt?

 

Bradford obviously, bigger stadium, bigger city, FA Cup winners, and Bournemouth only one admin.

I agree, money talks. However, we can’t just give up because Salford are flashing the cash. Plus we are paying players that kind of money, or so they say. They also have to work out not only what is going in their bank account, but also which club is the most likely to gain promotion.

The city of Bradford has a poorly rated education system. My experience of Bradfordians is that they are generally poorly educated.

So I am agreeing with the poster. I was merely expressing surprise that he needed to ask the question (there was a question mark at the end of his post).

 

So wise one, where were you educated then?.

 

I think other things come into consideration like who the manager is and the ambition of the club and sometimes the geographical area. I do agree that a lot of the players blindly do what the agents tell them but there are some who have a mind of their own.
