That's all well and good but this is unprecedented and Force Majuere will apply. I cant see the courts being harsh or firm given the circumstances. And looking at the latest, football ain't coming back any time soon.

Not disputing that the insurance aspect won't be part of it, granted.

I'm not hanging onto anything, just pointing out that the decisions taken in respect of the football, won't really be under the sole control of the leagues or the commercial contracts. It'll be driven by much bigger, wider public health and economic considerations. Football is going to have to get used to being on the back burner of life for at least a while.

 

We’ll see. Just listen to what Gary Neville said last night and why he believes you can’t simply play it behind closed doors. I don’t think the season will finish, but as the PL and EFL are different bodies I can see a situation where in the PL due to how far ahead Liverpool are they’re awarded the league and there is no relegation.

Can’t do that in the EFL however as the leagues are all to tight and some teams have games in hand etc.

Also have a look on the BBC website it says measures like this or even more could be in place until near the end of the year.
I just don’t see how this season finishes. The PLs response to TV deals will be take us to court, and I doubt under the extreme circumstances any will win.

 

How depressing. An unprecedented global crisis. Thousands are dying, it might end up being millions, jobs lost, homes will be lost, family events destroyed, the most vulnerable will be isolated, and the fat cat company's will still make their decisions based on their P&L and Balance Sheets.

 

So would you deny Liverpool the championship and Leeds and West Brom the premiership.and all the other issues. They should finish the season whenever that is

This season isn't over at all. Think people are confusing matters.

Nest season can change and start at anytime.

If we all stay at home for the next year then forget football, you will be on the streets with your family.

The world will have to get out of lockdown at some stage. Football can be played behind closed doors if required.

Season is far from over and yes this is awful but it can't last forever.

100%.. when you hear people like Karen Bardy say end the season you know that you're in trouble beacuse she has no intentions of thinking about lower league clubs.

The problem is the FA are powerless
The PL think about the PL
The EFL clearly when called upon now are not doing enough.

This isn't a 2 month thing it, it's looking like a 6 month - 12 month thing ( sorry to all that's buzzing off Simon Parkers bit in the T & A). Salford have planned for 6-12 months.

Clubs will go to the wall if more isn't done by the PL, EFL, Sky, BT, bookies, other tv companies.

We need sport back but I feel it will be back behind closed doors which is fine for PL and Championship but what about div 1 and 2? More needs to be done for lower league clubs.

Luckily, everyone agrees the season needs to finish but seriously TV companies and the likes need to do more for football
