Sums it up well. In this day and age we shouldn't be burning oil in the amounts we do but as it stands the man/woman on the streets has no choice. These over privileged middle class whoppers are folks against their argument in big numbers, same as the halfwits pouring milk over supermarket floors. Society is a strange place these days, I miss those days when life seemed simpler.

people have a right to protest in a free country, although I don't think the way they're going about things is the most effective at making their point. Protest is one of the few options available to us as citizens to make our voices heard, so to clamp down on these people would be to start the process of removing a right that we will likely all need or use at some point in our lives.

Was the guy that invented the internal combustion engine a hypocrite for using a horse to get everywhere? participation in a system doesn't disqualify you from seeking to change or improve it.

 

However had they not been so extreme, it's likely women wouldn't have got the right to vote for some time. Yes, and some of those that died were often the suffragettes themselves.

We're already on an island Tony. And the sad fact is that we will have to find alternatives to most or all of those things to avoid shagging the climate even more than we already have done.
