Lol, can't drink from a can, but people bring huge metal flasks in, and it's fine. Makes zero sense.

I used to love it watching Essex at Chelmsford in the 70s. Draught Abbot Ale, in the days when Greene King was a quality independent brewery, not a bloated conglomerate. Gorgeous nutty flavour. Beer of the Gods. -

Given how tight the seating is at VP, can you see someone trying to walk halfway along a row with two full pints in open plastic glasses?
Need the skills of a tightrope Walker.
Fellow fans getting beer spilt over them.
Wonder how much trouble that would cause!!
I have no need for over priced and in my opinion unpalatable fizz, to be served during the match.
Good grief you can drink before the game and at half time in the concourse. Are people really that desperate?
Quite happy to have a beer or two, pre match, in a pub, often with people l don’t sit with.
No need to drink watching the game, smokers seem to have adapted.
What next toilets with a view of the pitch, so you don’t have to leave your seat!Briscabantam and Rogered Tart like this. -

I was at a Madness gig in Leeds the other year and morons were throwing plastic cups of beer around. I nearly came to blows with one immature idiot over it.Jayteebee likes this. -

My point was more that things can be pointed out to stewards, then they can deal with the situation, be it drinking or racial comments. -

Maybe the mods can move the unrelated posts to seperate "drinking at footie thread".
But in my opinion not being able to have a pint or alcohol at your seat is weird. And surely it makes it worse, folk go and get steaming before they get to the ground or their seat. Less time to drink means drinking quicker and piling it in.
There's no problem at gigs, theatre, cricket and even now non league football. Also on the continent you can take a drink to the stand.
