he was a good pro and played for us 24 hours after representing Ireland, full commitment. there aren't many would do that.

 

What a load rubbish you post in your unending support for our owners! I most certainly don’t expect them to go through every single post on here and I wasn’t suggesting they did. Yes they are ruthless like other clubs as you point out. However in case you forgot which is easy to do given everything that has happened, we are their customers, yes that’s right they rely on us for income and support Most good business will try and find out what the customers want and what is upsetting them!

Why does everyone presume we offered Doyle less money? What if the club would not meet his demands?

 

Does Doyle ever get mentioned or remembered in games - probably not! Why? A bit like a good referees. If a goal keeper is doing a solid job they they are unlikely to get noticed.
The one position where only in my opinion you need a certain experience.

Hardly a suprise that's why I posted about his original offer and was told footballers always turn the first offer down, unless you play for Bradford City that is.

I'm not a die hard, long time City supporter as last year was my first as a season ticket holder but seems to me that Doyle was equal to but no better than most of the keepers I saw in the league. I'd be happy for us to take a Premiership keeper on loan (think Henderson for Shrewsbury last season) and see how that works out.

If City offered Doyle a deal that he wanted to discuss further, maybe he should have done that before going on holiday instead of leaving it until the last minute. I think it's all getting quite emotional with his family when footballers know exactly how it all works in terms of contracts. One person wants to pay a certain amount and the other person decides if they are happy with that or not. And if not, they go elsewhere. I'm pleased to see that City haven't continued talking and talking whilst other targets slip away - like last season.
