No but i'm pretty sure Sparks has searched all avenues regarding the pros and cons of purchasing them.

 

It is something we've looked at in the past but you need to power for them and the advertisers to cover the costs. Very few clubs at our level have them, they only hire them in when they are on TV as they know they will get plenty of companies wanting to advertise which covers the cost.

 

Extremely expensive to have “ hanging about” unused . I can only see them being in use for Tv games and the odd IFollow screenings.

 

I see the need higher up the leagues Kev, the sponsors are of a higher calibre and pay for that sort of exposure. Maybe if or when the club moves divisions the cost versus reward becomes more of a factor?

 

Absolutely , my reference was to current circumstances, but Prem Clubs on Tv three times a week explains why a club like ManCity can spend £400m on wages annually .

 

And break the financial rules, lets hope the FA throw the book at them like Everton. Wont hold my breathe though.
As for electronic advertisement boards, it might give us something to watch, when the football is shite.

 

How ironic it watching them moan about a decision going against them yesterday when the premier league has literally rolled over like an obedient dog for them with the financial stuff.

 

I was thinking about the Rupp and Sparks combo the other day.
Unfortunately until someone stumps up the asking price we are stuck with Rupp. Better owners out there most certainly, worse owners out there, most definately.
As for Ryan, he appointed the commercial team and they appear to be constantly improving this side, the football side , well ! He was certainly green when appointed and unfortunately had served his apprentiship under captain admin, Julian.
It's been a very big learning curve for him, but hopefully going forward the past few years have taught him well.
It would just be our luck , he moves on and does really well.

 

Money talks. Man city and the Arab backers have bought the titles in my opinion.

The ‘buying title’ line has always been used though. Even when Blackburn won the title in 1994/5, the same criticism was levelled at them after Jack Walker had bought Shearer and others.

it is just jealously a lot of the time. You need to spend money to invest, to progress (are you reading Stefan?).

Man City wasted a lot of money in the early years of arab ownership, all at a time when Chelsea were being bankrolled by Abramovitch, who is the one that seemed to start the trend of ridiculous / money-is-no-object spending.

The whole game has been corrupted and is rotten at the top.

In the 90s when it was Wenger and Fergie going at it, it seemed more grounded, although not sure if that’s just because I was a kid and not open to seeing the corruption as much.

These days the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd are funded by loans taken out by American owners. So are they really any better than Arab-owned City or Saudi-owned Newcastle. All as rotten as each other?

The points deduction Everton got wasn’t fair and should be reversed.

So many of these clubs bend their finances to do what they can to compete at the top.

 

I am not sure that title was used much before the inception of the premier league. Team seemed to build more then than buy trophies and more team's had a chance of wining something, other than a handfull , the rest are fighting to survive in the top flight, Everton a prime example.The money now involved is just obscene.
Am i jealous, not a chance. Don't ever want to get back to the premier league as it stands. Mid table financially secure championship , is my pipe dream. Now just finishing my letter to Santa.

 

I bet every club in the top 75% of the Prem are at it.!
