‘Well’ is a stretch. We’re doing ok.

 

The attitude and commitment is good. We’ve competed well for first and second ball. Some neat stuff in the middle of the park. Good energy and young O’Connor looks much better than either of the chuckle brothers.

On 3 occasions we’ve gifted possession away on the edge of our box, and we have a chronic lack of pace going forward. If we can keep it 0-0 till 65 mins or so then get Scannell on.

 

Have we? I think i fell asleep for what has been as exciting as a pre season friendly. Turgid 45 minutes of ‘football’ from both sides.

 

....and then?

 

By ‘doing ok’ I mean we’ve at least competed and been resilient. The attacking side of the game has been awful - but when isn’t it?

 

Not a forward on the bench poor line up, we look poor going forward no movement balls played up to Doyle are won mostly by their big centre half, that formation and team selection suggest Bowyer is trying to frustrate and maybe snatch a goal.

 

That was the plan last week: we came closest to scoring on the break.

The plan works until we concede a goal....
