The situation that "The Cone Brothers" had with Poleon was this. How the hell can two rookie"FA badged" coaches relying heavily on that very badge for any shred of credibility ? Then be faced with playing Poleon in a game? So they had to ship him out someway ? anyway ?. With most us lining up to to criticise their appointment they had to get him out just to cut this off as a most obvious threat to their very standing as "FA coaches" if he so much as got near the first XI ?. These two might be rookies but they are not that daft are they ?!.

You can rest assured that both "Mikey n Marty" footballs equivalent of 70s unfunny comedy duo "Mike n Bernie Winters" will have plenty of experience delivering "bad news" to young kids who aren't "good enough" in their FA Soccer camps ! So they sure as hell wernt going to sherk it and not drag Poleon in for "a chat" at "lunchtime" and send him packing with his cheese n onion sandwiches and bottle a fruit shoot !.

So it's got one out the way for them and you got to applaud Abbott & The CostHello twins for that if nowt else in the next three months ? Shame that it took Abbott over £100k; full pay for a season and absolutely bugger all in return for him to realise Dom may be a lot of good things but a footballer is not one of them !

If Poleons huge ego had somehow managed to transfer itself into performances and finishing infront of goal,we would have had one hell of a striker on our books.
Sadly that was not the case and Crawley are welcome to him.

Firstly let me say that I think it was right to let Poleon go, he clearly was not consistent despite starting well. I agree with the decision to let go all of those that have left.

However, do we have to be derogatory in our comments on players? I really don’t understand some posters who clearly have good command of English grammar, to go on and describe players in deregotory terms. It gives a really bad impression to both leaving players and new players coming in. Clearly some players have lost either pace, the ability to display their skills, were playing in the wrong position etc etc. Of course we as city fans are ambitious and want the very best players we can afford, and clearly the club are trying to bring in better players, but we will have to see if that pans out this season. Nevertheless, to completely slag off exiting players is just wrong in my view. Football is sport, and it may be old fashioned, but virtually shaking their hands on the way out costs nothing. They don’t need fans to tell them their deficiencies or the fact that they haven’t made it, they will know that.

What was unforgivable about Poleon was that after a poor performance at Valley Parade when he got some stick from the crowd he missed the next game through "illness". I know Simon Grayson was not impressed by that and mentioned it in a post match interview.

Just out of interest. How do you know Nkp is 4th choice and and that Vince isn't good enough anymore. They might both be smashing it in training at the mo. I don't want us to hang on to players not good enough for purely sentimental reasons but equally I don't want to get rid of players who can bring something to the squad because of that disastrous half season. Let's face it Wyke was pants too but if he wants to stay do you want rid of him as well

I'm sorry but Tawheed is right. We saw more than enough last season to see that both the aforementioned players are at best squad players and at worst should be nowhere near the first team.

I understand what you are saying but you could apply that to the whole squad last half season - Wyke included. Maybe Vinces legs have gone? But if not he can bring something to the squad / team

The only position i would have Vincelot playing is centre back, he has no attribute for midfield anymore. If we are to play 3-5-2 then he could come in as a three.

McGowan has 20 caps for his country and looked immense before he got injured, you'd think he'd be a starter. Kilgallon has had the better playing career by a distance and has been a better player in a city shirt, so he should be ahead of NKP in the starting 11 and O'Connor has been one of our marquee signings this summer after rejecting an offer from Aberdeen who finished 2nd or 3rd in the SPL. Assuming that they are all putting in effort during training and not just NKP, he's 4th choice based on potential and overall ability.

As for Vincelot, I said he wasn't good enough last season which he wasn't, and is no longer a guaranteed starter, which he isn't. He might still be good enough, he might not but he's most definitely replaceable and just like with Doyle and Law I'd back us to bring in better if Vincelot was to leave.

Unlike the others, Charlie Wyke still had an overall successful season by scoring 16 goals, the others were poor. That's the difference. That said, I do think he's a tad overhyped anyway and I'd get rid if the price was right.

Hi Tawheed. Yes I can't disagree with much of that. The only thing I would add is that, in my opinion, Vince never stopped working and trying, even though his form was abysmal. Some games Wyke looked disinterested and going through the motions. Like you I am sure we can get better if we are prepared to pay, but both NKP and Vince could do a job for us even if not regular starters. We will have to wait and see what MC thinks I suppose

Not writing off Vince after one bad run for most of his time here he has been a mainstay. Used more sparingly he could be very good for us this coming season

I was looking at a few clips of Poleon earlier in the season. Remove the last few seconds of each clip, and you could be forgiven for thinking BCAFC had a decent striker on their books ................... ;)

(A bit like taking some stunning fluff home to meet Mum and Dad - everything was going great until 'She opened her gob' :D )

Sorry @Silverbantam@Silverbantam Simon Grayson gets little creadability from me for his time at Valley Parade, apart from making the players turn up for training in suits I was hardly impressed with what he achieved with the players on the pitch.
I may not be impressed with our new coaching set up (yes they will have my full backing from Shrewsbury on) at least they are prepared to put their reputation on the line as the club stands, rather than excuses about the infrastructure and training facilities not being ours.
