Cooke is the best chance creator in the division.

    We won't get better.

If we sacrifice our creative players to sign a lethal striker, that lethal striker won't get the chances he needs.

We can’t even fill a bench and you’re suggesting selling 2 first team players.

No. We need to add to the squad to provide some healthy competition and add quality to our squad

A good FA Cup run to the 3rd round would help the kitty and perhaps entice players to join..

    Oh.

Sorry but do people think Elliot Watt is a saleable asset? For how much?? He is awful and wont be touched by anyone in League 2 at the moment never mind League 1. We have no assets. Our squad is bang average.

I like Cooke, however, he doesn't score near enough goals for me for a so called attacking midfielder, so if we could attract a decent fee for him, then yes, sell.

    Definitely sell Watt for me.

It would only make sense though to sell both, if we could replace with better quality, and that is the key if you are moving on/selling players.

We sold Crankshaw after our window had closed, so I get that we haven't been able to replace him yet.

Having given this some thought myself over the last few weeks, given what we've witnessed on the pitch, I agree completely with @Brackenrigg@Brackenrigg on this one. For all of the so called key pass stats that Cooke has allegedly achieved, and are deemed to be so impressive this season, just what has it added to our team? We sit mid table with an incredibly poor win ratio, and unable to score more than 1 goal in any game

There might be the argument that with better strikers we may be higher up the table, with better conversion, but looking at where we are from having him in the team right now, and for the goals that he contributes as an attacking midfielder, I can't help but think the money we spend on him could be better used elsewhere, or on a midfielder who actually scores. He's one of the usual suspects who always seemed to he involved in passing responsibility onto to others to finish a move, which frustrates the hell out of me. On the occasions when he does shoot, the majority end up skyed in row Z!

Watt just hasn't kicked on. On his day he's decent at this level, but these performances are few and far between, on a bad day, hes very bad, failing to complete 2/3 yard passes. He doesn't have the influence we all expected and indeed require in a team with aspirations of promotion. Hes young and may well be suited to football at a higher level when on firm, sadly the standard in L2 is dire and we require more blood and thunder than either can provide.

If we get offers in for either/both, and we can replace them, I'd bite their hands off

City's policy is usually to pay other clubs to take them off our hands.....

    How do we finance January.....?

Maybe we could use some of the money generated through increased Season Ticket prices, or the apparent improvement in commercial revenues? Or maybe our Owner could invest some of his £300m fortune (or at least use it as security for manageable debt) to grow the club he acquired and has taken backwards, and backwards, and backwards.

It's key passes that he is top of. Which is a stat with a completed bass into the "red zone" or xG area which can be turned into a scoring opportunity. Basically, every teams corner takers are at the top of the list. However, he's only got 4 assists from his 60+ completed key passes. Couple from corners come to mind, but i think in open play he only has 2 assists.

It's a better stat than the god awful Connor Wood stat everyone stupidly went mental over a few years back of the most balls in the box in the EFL by this time of year.... when you dug a little deeper he had one assist and a cross completion of around 10% from memory.

Selling Cooke and Watt and replacing them with who? I'm all for selling players, but only if their replacements are an improvement on those that were sold. I don't think the kitty stretches to selling those two and spending money on top to replace them with better. Even if we could find them.

How much would we get for the lift in the main stand? That was always quoted as an asset under Lawn and I don't see many high value assets on the playing staff, to be honest.

We are an underperforming side with underperforming players. No one will be getting ‘sold’, you must be joking! For a sale you need a buyer! Who’s going to buy any of them?

They found buyers for BRE, DMH and Guthrie at the start of the year. Always somebody who has an ego that thinks they can make a player succeed or can tame an ego like Mario Balotelli.

It’s also about getting the wage stealers off our books I mean for whatever Evans is on you could easily bring in a better player in his wages ............. and how many is there like him ????
Robinson and Lavery you get rid of them and both there wages could bring us in a decent striker in on loan

sadly whose gonna take them though ???

It’s all to do with data. He’s probably a good player in a good team so we haven’t seen the best of him.

He nearly went in the summer. If Leeds had signed Lewis O’Brien the rumour was Town would come in for Watts.

I couldn’t see that in a million years Silver, Watt is nowhere near the quality of O’Brien.

Crankshaw wasn't even playing and we sold him. He scored one goal.

Watt is playing, and has been linked with moves on multiple occasions. Hull were named last season as a potential buyer.

It's possible we'll sell him, we might receive a bid, we might not.

Agree, and the same for Cooke - both effective players in a good team. Sadly they’ve both not performed to the levels we expect, especially Watt this season. However there is no way I would be considering moving them, unless the fee was too ridiculous to refuse, and would prefer to see us strengthening around them.
