Yep, it is still there if you search for it. But no links, so unless you know about it you wouldn’t see it but they will claim they have covered it

What you need to remember is that news publishing is a business, one that has always been highly competitive but with the rise of the internet where reach, no restrictions on column inches and needing a constant flow of articles going up has made it even worse as there are now stories that previously wouldn't have made the nationals that now do.
Now if a big national paper picks up a story they are going to suffocate the local paper when it comes to social media and SEO so the benefit for them keeping stories artificially on the front page when it's in the national press when they rely on clicks to generate the income that funds them is tiny.
