If you can defend you always have a chance. And we can.

 

We won the game when we switched to 4 4 2 today - however it could have easily backfired. We were just a little more stretched.

That wasn't my impression. I felt we had the ball in their half for most of the last 20 minutes. We looked far less likely to concede a goal than when we sat back with eight men behind the ball and invited them onto us.

 

Exactly, attack is the best form of defence. Yes, you will still take the odd hit playing that way but when you have a solid defence like we clearly do, it isn't going to cause too much damage. I've decided I'm prepared to accept Bower's explanations about illness and injuries forcing his hand somewhat over the last few games, but if things don't start to change over the next couple of weeks when the illness bug has completely cleared up, players are back from injury and we potentially have new or returning players to strengthen the squad, I might not be as reasonable.
