Think it's disgraceful what these players get paid. I won £33.60 on a horse the other day and I was dancing round the kitchen.

Sanchez's wages are over-inflated in the press though as the £500k a week they like using includes image rights and bonuses (And he has hardly been racking those bonuses up). His actual wages are said to be around £350k a week which is the deal that's been on the table for DDG for a while now.
Like most of the players he was just stalling while Jose was still there and now they are most likely just putting the finishing touches to the finer detailsStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

Bonuses will most likely be lower just because its easier for forwards to rack up bonuses as they will have goal bonuses and the assumption will always be that they will score a fair amount. DDG's equivalent bonus will be clean sheets which are harder to getStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

Quite fascinating that they do not seem to have a deal for ‘intellectual property’ for footballers!

Who needs £350,000 a week? What could anyone possibly do with that? I'd feel guilty if I was pocketing that much, especially while in a "working class" environment. Mind, I'd probably be dead within a few days if I got £350,000.

The bigger problem with wages of footballers isn't really at the top end but further down where the amount they get paid isn't in proportion with what the club makes. United since the 90's have always operated on the basis that the sensible revenue to wage ration is 50% which allows them to spend a massive amount on transfers and pay one of the highest wage bills in Football but thats less than the FPP limits in say League 1 are. There is non way that say Bradford City can actually make money when they generate about £5mill in revenue a year and £3mill of that goes out on salaryStop hovering to collapse...
