Two minute clip from his podcast with some Posh fans involved in the podcast this week. He's confirmed he is looking to sell his shares this summer and wont be involved with the club anymore, wants to sign off with a promotion. He backed up whats he's always said that when he leaves Peterborough he wants to take 12-18 months out the game, restock and have family time before buying another club. Sounds like in the next 2 years, 2 of his kids will be going off to uni in the states so he wants to see that through before going back into the game.

Summer 2024 sounds like when he wants back in the game, he's talked us up for years on his show, vaguely remember him saying once before on a pod last season that if he was entering the league looking to buy his first team, Bradford would be his choice. Might be 2+2=5 but after all his hints about us over the last few years and obviously has a connection with Ryan, might be one to keep an eye on. Especially if we are still in L2 by the end of next season, as I cant imagine Rupp would have a hope in getting an offer anywhere near his valuation and might entertain a bid.

Not really interested in that right now.

Darragh has been stuck in his ways for some time, constantly appointing the same managers, rigidly sticking with the same 'sell your best players' policy, being unable to gamble on the club progressing organically because they're now seen as a selling club who don't keep quality players for more than two seasons.

I get that we'll probably sell over-achieving players too, but it's not our entire business model - I'd be extremely disappointed if we sold Andy Cook in January for a million if it threatened to derail our promotion push. MacAnthony wouldn't be able to sell fast enough, though, and invest in non-league starlets that may or may not work out.

There's no reason whatsoever for Peterborough to still be a yo-yo side - they've got the resources and the capability to perform in the Championship, but their model is holding them back.

Sure, Rupp has been a disastrous failure, but we've landed on our feet for the time being - and I want to ride this train a little longer.

1 million for Cook in the same sentence. Wow just wow.
More like £50k if we’re lucky

City have to pay the electricity bill. So January they will have to sell.
Bingo card.... We have to cut our cloth blah blah.

    It's the city way.

Anyway.. I missed that bit about him selling up. Been on about it for months now. Good luck to him. He's nothing to do with city.

He’s a 32 year old League 2 striker who’s spent most of his career in non league.

Who said he was worth a million quid?

I said I'd be disappointed if we sold him for a million if it derailed our promotion season.

A million quid is not worth missing out on promotion.

If someone offered a million quid for Cook, Sparks would drive him there himself.
We’d get promotion without Cook and have a million to spend in league 1

We wouldn't get promotion without Cook if selling Cook derailed our promotion push.

    I'm using simple English here, aren't I?

EDIT: Just to clarify, my point is that MacAnthony would - and routinely does - sell his best players regardless of how it affects their season - regardless of if it halts a promotion or causes a relegation.

That isn't how I want this club run, and I'd be extremely disappointed if we started doing that.

How much Andy Cook is worth isn't really the point.

Maybe start your sentence with the words ‘Hypothetically speaking.’

I'm sure most people can follow the thread of an entire sentence without rage-quitting, but I note your objection ;)

They like him because he talks about us a lot due to his pal Phil Ideson being on the podcast a lot and his relationship with Sparks seems to suggest he has an affection for the club.
Steve Evans has an affection for the club according to those who want him as manager.
I feel some need to have more open minds.

I agree, his ambition is limited to the Championship and he does it by gambling (which to be fair has paid off) on transfer fees. His luck wont last forever and at some point those gambles will fail.

In terms of managers' he just sticks to the same few, appoint McCann, sack him, appoint Ferguson, sack him repeat. Both have had three stints there and he replaced the manager on average every 15 months.

It's not the perfect club it's made out to be, and they would be lost without Barry Fry,

A valid point but I think andy cook and a million quid made everyone's eyes pop out haha.

Part of me thinks he would do well for us up to a point, but another part of me is onboard with what yourself and others are saying.

Spot on. He's gone as far as he can, crowds never improve, new stadium now appears off the agenda as I understand, existing stadium is very poor and clearly gets no attention (and some on here think VP is bad).
I think he has had enough of the lack of success he hoped he would get and many in Peterborough have seen through his endless chat. Can't blame him for wanting time out and wish him well with family time or whatever but like others I don't get the love in.
